Saw a couple sharp older trucks in parking lots yesterday afternoon. A very clean ‘92-96 Ford F150 XLT regular cab long bed in an unusual two tone—like an apricot/orange with tan insert down the side. Looked like original paint. Later saw a clean mid 90s teal GMC Yukon 2dr w/ 6.5 turbo diesel decals. Don’t recall ever seeing a 2dr GM diesel SUV.

  4. Five of the nine Supreme Court justices voted to overturn a 1937 ruling that limited corporate funding of political campaigns. This makes me very nervous. We have upended 60 years of campaign finance rules and have done a 180 back to the robber baron era of politics. Not only will this affect the national level, it could affect state and local level as well. Imagine the local Wal-Mart funding the election of a small town mayor if he promises to provide incentives and upgraded roads for a new store, or a major employer backing a candidate for governor if he promises to relax regulation. And not only that, but the more money you have, the more negative media you ca…

So for the second time in six months my Impala has been the victim of the CURSE. My car was parked in front of a friend's house last night when some dough head in a big GMC Sierra 2500 decided to do a 3-point turn and backed right into my car's left front fender. The upshot is that at the least, the fender is f@#ked in every way imaginable. Driving with a learners permit and didn't even feel the impact. Also the bumper probably needs to be replaced too since the little mounting holes for the wheel well liner are completely torn and deformed. I've no idea how fast the truck was backing up but I would hope that the unibody hasn't been somehow damaged. Regardless, I'm …

One of my coworkers is buying a new car to replace his currently broken manual '03 Saab 9-3 that has 200,000 km. The clutch is not working. The car is currently sitting at a shop, not being worked on. The mechanic looked at it, and nothing obvious is wrong with it without going into major labour charges (opening clutch/transmission). The Subaru dealer that he's buying the new car from is not offering a trade, even without knowing that the clutch is dead. The mechanic at the shop wants the car for free, because he's inspected it, and it's been sitting on his lot for two weeks now. That strikes me as a bit of a cash grab. However, I'm wondering if it's going to be worth it …

Lately I've been considering just what sort of serious vehicle purchase will come next for me. And by serious, I mean one that isn't a project or so old as to be impractical as a daily driver. At some point, I will need to replace the Tahoe and the ROPOS with a half-decent truck that I can plow with and use for all of the things I do workwise. But that can happen over time since the Tahoe now owes me some miles (and I like it). The vehicle I am considering will have to be better on fuel than the Tahoe (not hard to do), be a manual, and be something I can enjoy when I drive it. It will also have to be low-mileage and long trip worthy since I am way overdue for some goo…

In the beginning, virtually all cars were convertibles, most descended from open carriages and buggies. Rudimentary canvas tops were normal as carmakers were more concerned with mechanical reliability than passenger protection - and automobiles were rarely operated in the winter anyway. As reliability improved and cars were used year-round there was increased interest in weather protection. Enclosed cars gradually ev…

A buddy and I both keep a sheet where we record how many reps and the amount of weight each time, and it really shows you how much progress you've made. I used to go sometimes last year, but we didn't keep a record and after a while only started going once every week and just kinda fell out of it as things got busier. But seeing the improvements written down each week really gets you motivated to go each time and keeping lifting a little more. I've also noticed I feel a whole lot better physically when I'm in a regular routine.

Only limitation for all ten is that you must be able to walk into your state/province DMV and register it legally. First 3-New 2017 cars you would buy, less than 50 grand... Next 3-New 2017 cars you would buy, 50 grand to 125 grand... Next 3-used cars you would buy, any market any era, just must be street legal. that is it-although i would like to see different cars than we usually post up. Challenger and Raptor ahve had a lot of exposure in dream car garage, looking for whatever else you all can come up with. Last car-#10-Anything street legal on the …

  73. So just chillin' at home today and surfin' the web... went over to Craigslist.com and played around looking at different vehicles for sale. I decided to see what GMCs were listed and found this one: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/ctd/1054584216.html It's a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 SLT Extended cab 4WD with 38,400 original miles for $12,900. Is this something I should look into? I'm questioning the 6.0L V8 and 2500 series - if it were a 1500 series with the 5.3L V8 I'd probably not be asking for any advice!! I don't really need a 2500 series, and the 6.0L V8 I think is overkill for my needs. However, for some reason I really like 2000-2002 GMC Sierras the best (m…

This weeked was the first day of fishing season. Didn't plan on doing a comedic documentary this year, but I did take some pics out of boredom. Just... Random... Pics... Oh, so technically, this first one is from Easter weekend when it snowed. These two are of Brookville. Now for some highly exciting fishing action. Oh yes. Next, we have some beauty shots of my Grandpa's old Yamaha Big Bear. Finally, random shots of my Millenia while at my Grandparent's.

If you feel you cannot drive this, then keep it in the same Year and explain why you would rather have an alternative choice. 1987 Buick Grand National GNX 1987 BMW M3 1987 Alternative ???????

So, I figure I'd throw out a nice, harmless topic. Have you cars got their springtime cleaning yet? I've found some good deals on wax, so as soon as it warms up, they should get a nice wash and wax. I've already started cleaning up the inside, but I'm debating about either getting a carpet cleaner, or maybe letting the a place clean it for me. It's been a rough winter, and the cars are starting to show it.

I had Arkus out running around the place a while back, and he disappeared from view just long enough for me to know that it meant trouble (with Arkus that's about a minute or so). So I start calling him. He still doesn't show up. Just as I'm about to jump in the Silverado to hunt him down, he rounds the bend from behind the barn. Carrying a fox in his mouth. I yell at him and he drops the fox, and crawls over to me (realizing that he's screwed-up again). So I grab a hold of of him thinking that I'll need to put a wounded fox out of its misery. When I looked up, the fox was running away (looking pretty pissed-off). I breathed a sigh of relief, thinking I'd…

In early August my girlfriend and I will be driving to Florida. Along the way we will be passing through Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. We'll be heading through Alabama on the way back since we're going to stop and visit her niece near Huntsville. I've been to all mentioned except the deep south states like Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, so it should be a fun trip. How inundated was Nashville with water? I was thinking that would be a great halfway point, but if it was anything like the flooding we had here two years ago, we'll probably stay somewhere else instead. I want to check out Atlanta, but I don't really know what there is to see o…

2006 GMC Canyon SL - $14,995 I'd only keep the cap on until I can unload it on craigslist. Not sure what I'd do with the add-on satellite radio. It's a little more than I want to spend, and I'm not 100% sure it's worth it, but such is life buying used on LI.

Normally I never work on the Odyssey, but it needed an oil change and transmission fluid change, so instead of getting raped at the dealership, I thought I'd do it myself. So last night, I extracted the oil through the dipstick with my Mityvac evacuator. Then I poured in fresh oil thorugh the fill cap. This morning I drove it a while to get the ATF warmed up. I drained the ATF through the drain plug, and refilled it with a funnel into the ATF dipstick. I drove it around the block. But then I noticed some bad noises and gear slippage. I opened the owner's manual again, and lo and behold, what I thought was the engine oil dipstick was the ATF dipstick, and what I thou…

1973 Starlight Black Pontiac GTO 400 CID The owner whom orginally got the car lives in my town of Dubuque got this car new at a Pontiac dealer in my town. (Whom I never go to.) Still it is a neat piece and is in great shape with PHS and only 82K on the clock. The buy-it-now of $12,500 seems pretty fair. So what do all you think? If I had the money and an agreeable wife I would get it. Even though it isn't my favorite year of GTO still it is pretty sweet. I love the color combo and if it was a floor shift and 455 it would be even better. Not that a 400 is a pooch and it has a bench seat... Don't give me any ideas...

By: Alistair Weaver Date Posted 10-10-2005 BMW and Mercedes-Benz are at war again, and the stakes could not be higher. This is not simply a matter of 7 Series versus S-Class or SLK against Z4. This is a struggle for the future direction of the automobile. Inside Line asked senior figures from Mercedes and BMW to outline their companies' visions of the future, and while they agree on some issues, there are also some startling and fundamental differences of opinion. Munich is represented by Professor Raymond Freymann. As the managing director of BMW's Research and Technology division, he is responsible for "translating crazy ideas into reality." His…

There are 100-150 of these raids every day in America, the vast, vast majority like this one, to serve a warrant for a consensual crime. But they di…
