Cadillac
Cadillac, founded in 1902 in Detroit, quickly gained a reputation for precision and innovation, becoming a leader in American luxury vehicles. Acquired by General Motors in 1909, it set standards with iconic models like the Eldorado and DeVille. Though it faced challenges in the modern era, Cadillac has reinvented itself with bold design and a shift toward electric vehicles, now leading GM’s luxury EV efforts with models like the Lyriq and Celestiq.

The 2019 Cadillac XT4 is in production, on their way to dealerships and out for test drives around North America. Reviews have been very positive and people have a variety of love / hate it for the design. Even here on Cheers and Gears various members have a passion on how plastic is being used on the front and rear of the car. With that it is time to take a closer look at some of the tech on this newest CUV from Cadillac. I found sandyblogs.com and the writers Tech Link. Here they do a pretty good job of pointing out the various tech on new auto's. I wanted to bring this into C&G for discussion and see what you all think. Tech open for debate: XT4 …

Should Cadillac do a carbon fiber monocoque supercar with an American twist to rival the Ferrari 458? Such a vehicle will also put Caddy in the same field as the McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lexus LFA, Porsche 912, you name it). This will be a small volume vehicle probably around 2000 units a year and the carbon fiber chassis will probably be outsourced. It'll sell for around $150K. What GM has that the world doesn't is the light, compact, powerful and efficient small block V8. Unlike all the aforementioned cars, the Caddy will save a lot of money on powertrain development allowing it to spend more on the chassis and other finishings while selling the car for r…

So my nephew is a test drive consultant who racks many miles on new test vehicles that are at or near production build levels. He drives everything, currently mostly from Dodge/Chrysler and Cadillac, although he showed me several top drawer vettes as well. He is on prescribed routes and when near me, we meet up for dinner or lunch. Last Saturday he pulled up in a black CT6. Cadillac really has done a great job on this car. He took me for a short ride (against the rules, but I demanded it), and I got to dash fondle and take in all the details and surfaces and textures and materials. It is far better than CTS in every way, which makes me wonder how they will sell …

A new report from Autoblog says Cadillac is planning on premiering their flagship sedan, possibly named LTS, at next year's New York Auto Show. A source at the company says the brand is preparing their competitor to the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class to be shown at New York. The source dismisses the current XTS as a placeholder, and not a "real" Cadillac. The source admits that the new S-Class is a tough competitor to upcoming model. Sadly, no information on powertrains or other key details were revealed. Source: Autoblog William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears. July 23, 2012 Drew Dowdell - Managing Editor CheersandGears.com Cadillac is readying a 2.0 turbo version of their full size XTS sedan model according to a diagram obtained by a CheersandGears.com reader. The diagram, sourced from a U.S. Cadillac dealership parts catalog, shows the 2.0T badging along with the FlexFuel badge we are familiar with from other GM vehicles. When we first saw the diagram, we thought we were looking at evidence of a US bound livery model of the XTS similar to Lincoln’s MKT 2.0 Ecoboost. However, a source inside of GM informed us this was not the case, so do not expect to see the 2.0T version on the road if you live in the U.S. This version…

I personally have seen a few members post that Cadillac needs a Lambda vehicle to replace the Escalade (currently a GMT-900). Given that Buick already has the Enclave, why would Cadillac need to do that? Vote and discuss.

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com February 12, 2012 The smallest Cadillac currently is the new ATS sedan. But that could be changing. “The (compact) ATS sedan is not as small as we could go at Cadillac,” says Dave Leone, vehicle-line executive for the ATS. “The ATS is only the first entry. The ATS platform is scalable, so we could go smaller or larger.” The ATS is 7.7 inches shorter than the CTS, but the platform could be scaled down even further, possibly spawing a competitor to the BMW 1-Series, Audi A3, and Mercedes A-Class. Leone went onto to say, a smaller ATS would “a legitimate entry in the largest segment in the industry, the small, entry-le…

CTS equals Cadillac Technical Superiority June 1 | Link to Original Article @ CNet Cadillac gave us a little hint of the cabin gadgets available in its 2008 Cadillac CTS. And from what we've heard, we can't wait to see it in action. We saw the new CTS at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, but Cadillac didn't have the full story on its tech features there. The Cadillac designers focused on making the navigation and entertainment interface usable and seamless. The maps will have a 3D aspect and will show traffic and weather. The stereo gets a hard drive for music storage, and the radio includes a pause feature. We don't have all the details yet, but Cadillac must have a bufferi…

Europeans love diesel engines. Diesels are more desirable from both a tax standpoint and from a fuel cost standpoint. Diesels are also viewed as technologically superior to petrol engines. In short, regardless of how it is perceived here, diesels sell in Europe. Read this in a recent car mag, can't remember which. Basically, Mercedes is collecting and restoring some of their classic models at specialized shops. For the longest time, I've felt Cadillac should do this. My family has had 3 beautiful old Caddies over the years- a 64 Coupe DeVille, a 65 Sedan DeVille, and a 75 CDV. Ours were all in great shape (dad was a bodyman/mechanic, so that helped) as long as we owned them, but I've always seen similar old Caddies that are just sad to behold- belching smoke, rusting to pieces, missing pieces, etc. I always thought that, out of respect for the brand, Cadillac should buy out all those old cars, restore the ones th…

According to the Cadillac website, the 3.0 and 3.6 engines get identical mileage (18/26) in AWD and RWD configurations (I find that slightly suspect), but offer slightly different power outputs. Can someone please enlighten me on what meaningful differences exist between these two engines? If fuel economy is the same, why would one choose one engine over the other?

Cadillac is planning to make some significant changes to their V-Series sub-brand . Speaking to dealers yesterday in Las Vegas, General Motors product chief Mark Reuss said the lineup would expand beginning with the CT6 V-Sport next year - although it will be renamed to the CT6-V. "Beginning with the debut of the CTS-V Sedan in 2004, the V-Series sub-brand sparked new life into Cadillac. As a result of the overwhelming response the CT6 V-Sport received when revealed in early 2018, we've decided to formally make it a V-Series, signaling the expansion of V-Series," said Reuss in a statement. The CT6-V made its official debut at the New York Auto Show in March. It …

We are now starting to get the lo down on everything to expect from the 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid. Before now, the most popular and factual stories about it were that it was going to be produced in China at GM's shared (with SAIC) plant in Shanghai. What we know: - The vehicle will be powered by GM's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder coupled with two electric motors. - The lithium-ion battery pack will share the Chevy Volt's 18.4 kilowatt-hour capacity - Full system horsepower is 449HP - 0-60 is expected to be 5.4 seconds. - Cadillac is also claiming an electric-only range of 37 miles. We also know that the CT6 won’t use the same batt…

I posted on my thread in The Lounge but didn't know if people would see it there. I checked out my new CTS at the dealership last night (haven't taken delivery quite yet) and noticed that my car ('07 3.6L Sport with 6-speed manual) is rated at only 17 city/26 highway. That seems pretty crappy for a V6.....especially one with a manual tranny that probably has a pretty tall geared sixth gear. I don't really care.....but it just seems way low. Hell, my C6 is rated at 18/28....but that's an '06. I'm really thinking this has more to do with the new testing methods that I think were instituted by the EPA for '07 testing....? (BTW....the car is HOT...!)

Doing this as a poll would have been tough, so let's go verbal on this one. Best looking: I am stunned by what a good-looking car the DTS has become, with almost all vantage points being very attractive. And, no, it has nothing to do with being older now...I would have loved it as a 22-year old. It's just well done. Worst looking: I think the XLR is hideous. I was at a light behind one a couple of months ago and the table-top deck lid with its ugly squarish lights reminded me of a mid-90s Achieva (remember those?) Other comments: The SUV/wagon (acronym please?) has some nice crisp edges. The CTS has nice proportions, overall, but I don't like how tall the dash f…

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com June 12, 2012 The next Cadillac CTS is just around the corner and Inside Line has gotten their hands on new spy shots that reveal some key parts that will appear when the it arrives in the 2014 model year. Starting with the exterior, the front end appears to have some Ciel infulence with its flat and wide grille. Other items that we can pick out include aggressive wheels/tires and large brakes. Inside, the CTS will get Cadillac's CUE infotainment system, a stitched dash, and paddle shifters. The big news lies under the hood. This CTS mule appears to be packing a twin-turbo V6 and the way we can tell that is due to …

Cadillac has some ambitious product plans. Starting with the debut of the XT4 at the New York Auto Show, Cadillac will be launching a new vehicle every six months by 2022. This includes a large crossover, a replacement for the ATS/CTS, and a new Escalade. Once the brand finishes this offensive, the brand "can, candidly, generate some growth, generate some revenue, put volume through our dealer organization so they can also invest in the elevation of the brand, all those logical things," said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. One of those possible elevation plans is a "halo vehicle." According to Automotive News, the model might not necessarily be a car. Also in t…

They tested the vehicles in there regular mode (performance, fit and finish etc) and then looked that the bling factoer (wheel size, chrome, side vents, TV's, nav screen size). The Escalade was definitely the perofmance king in every category except braking and off road ability. They were also quite pleased with the ride and handling inspite of the 22 inch wheels. As many of you may well know I have been thinking and I mean looking at another used whip to add to my fleet. I have a daughter that will be driving and she would like the Impala. Fine. My son and I have been kicking around many ideas, like a 2001-2002 Firebird/Formula/Trans Am, a 1998-1999 Bonneville SSE, and I recently took a look at later years Sevilles the namely 02-04's and found then to be very cheap like under or around 8-10K with low miles. I just loved my time with my 1992 Sedan Deville and can only imagine how nice a more modern N* powered Seville SLS or STS would drive. I would get the 02-04 model because I have to have the updated Cadillac crest and would pref…

Back in December, we reported on the anomaly that is the Cadillac Escalade. The model represents a number of things the brand would like to leave behind - too much bling and sharing a platform with Chevrolet and GMC to name a couple. But it is also the model where Cadillac makes the most money and brings in buyers from German and Japanese luxury brands. "How do you balance the desire to bring it into alignment with where we're taking the brand and the equally intense desire not to screw up a good thing?" said Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen back in April. The answer appears to be not messing with the formula and just building on top of it. “The Escalade m…

Cadillac Working On A Convertible? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com May 1, 2011 Cadillac's recent track record with convertibles has been abysmal. The Allanté from the late 80's and the recent XLR had high aspirations, but fell flat in sales. Car & Driver is now reporting that Cadillac is working a convertible that will fit between the ATS and CTS. The convertible will use a fabric roof to help with the vehicle's weight. Engine choices for the convertible could range from turbo-4, V6, or V8s. The convertible is expected to come out in late 2013 as a 2014 model. Source: Car & Driver

GM to put electric Cadillac Converj into production General Motors Co. has decided to produce the Cadillac Converj, an extended-range electric car using the same technology as the Chevrolet Volt, The Detroit News has learned. There's a war going on between Cadillac and Lincoln. With the new Navigator, Lincoln has a very compelling alternative to Cadillac's aging Escalade. But Cadillac is fighting back by dumping a bunch of cash on the hood. At the Detroit Auto Show in January, General Motors surprised the crowd with a concept coupe called the Cadillac Converj. Built on the same Voltec platform as the Chevrolet Volt, the Converj was seen as a way for GM to leverage the pricey ER-EV drivetrain in a vehicle that could sell at a premium price, recovering some of the development costs. According to Motor Trend, the Converj has been given the green light for production in 2011, a year after the Volt launches. When we talked to GM's Bob Kruse at the Detroit show, he indicated a production Converj would likely use the same powertrain as the Volt, although it could have different calibrations to allow somewhat higher…

When we first drove Cadillac’s pickup truck, we thought it made about as much sense as “an office desk that converts into a Hovercraft” or “mint-flavored Drano.” That was no skin off Cadillac’s nose, which found more than 40,000 takers from 2002 through 2005, apparently a sufficient number to justify a makeover similar to that of the Escalade SUV for 2007. This includes the 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed a…

Cadillac sits atop survey for luxury brand satisfaction Thursday, July 05, 2007 | Don Hammonds | Link to Original Article @ Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Cadillac, once known as "The Standard of the World," may want to dust off that old title. When it comes to customer service, a Business Week survey put the company third in a group of 25 "luxury or specialty" brands or companies, including those not in an automotive-related business. When it comes to cars, Cadillac outranked stalwarts such as Lexus and Porsche. Business Week supplemented 2006 data from J.D.Power & Associates with a survey of about 3,000 Business Week readers who were asked to nominate three companies …

TOUGH CROWD By Josh Jacquot, Senior Road Test Editor Email | Blog Date posted: 11-04-2007 Linkity BMW's 335i has dominated our recent comparison tests like Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell would dominate Paul "Pee-wee Herman" Reubens in a face-punching contest. By DAVE GUILFORD | AUTOMOTIVE NEWS AutoWeek | Published 03/02/06 http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...1024/LATESTNEWS Jim Taylor, Cadillac marketing general manager, says the division needs to make progress on one laggard element in its largely successful revival plan: building international volume. American dealers should pay close attention to Cadillac's efforts to pump up sales in Europe, China and elsewhere, Taylor said, because overseas sales can be decisive in getting products approved for the United States. For instance, he said in an interview here, the CTS and STS required significant investment for relatively low volumes. The expectation that incre…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com April 8, 2013 Car and Driver recently checked in with their sources on what the future holds for certain Cadillac models. We'll start with the current generation CTS Coupe and Wagon. These two models will likely stick around for one more year and be built alongside the new CTS. After this, both models will be shown the door. Don't expect a next-gen CTS Wagon to appear though. Sales of the CTS Wagon were only 7% of sales last year (about 3500 wagons) and the brand just doesn't see a reason to do another one. (Quick sidebar: out of those 3500 CTS Wagons, 1 out of every 3 were the V model.) As for the CTS Coupe, that'…

For starters, Ferguson revealed that the next Cadillac CTS would be unveiled at March's New York Auto Show, confirming what we've been hearing for the past month or so. Furguson also said the CTS would be going on sale sometime in the fall. "It's just gorgeous. We are positioning that car as a step up, so there will be a marketing challenge to reposition that car," Ferguson told the Detroit Free Press just outside of the National Automobile Dealers Asso…

The Cadillac XT5 will be the first model in a new crossover lineup for the brand. But don't expect it anytime soon. de Nysschen said it would coming out in 2018. Following the compact crossover will be a large crossover that would take on the likes of the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90. This model is expected in either the second half of 2018 or 2019. Wrapping up the crossover lineup could be a subcompact model that would compete with the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. General Motors’ prestige luxury brand, Cadillac, is in the process of a well-known transformation, laying down a solid foundation for growth well into the future. And despite declining sales volume, Cadillac is reaping (some of) the fruits from its labor by seeing an increase in average transaction prices. The average transaction price (ATP) for Cadillacs sold in June in the U.S. market topped $52,000, a $7,000 — or 15 percent — increase over the same period a year ago. The brand attributes the increase to ongoing product enhancements that are “transforming the brand and elevating its position in the luxury marketplace”. “Our goals are to improve the quality of the busi…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com November 13, 2013 We know that Cadillac is hard at work on an ATS-V, but no one has been able to nail down what will be under the hood of it. Reports say it could either be a twin-turbo V6, possibly the new TT 3.6 found in the CTS and XTS VSport, or a V8 engine. According to a new report from Automobile, the ATS-V will likely have a twin-turbo V6, but not the 3.6. The report says the twin-turbo V6 will be a 3.2L and will be capable of producing of more than 500 horsepower. This TT 3.2 V6 has a bit of interesting story to it. The engine is based on GMs’ High Feature V6 engine architecture which was supplied to Alfa Romeo …

Sat in one today. Let me just say it was a huge turnoff. The dash and center stack area is okay, but everything else was pretty terrible. Seats were awful, both in terms of comfort and leather quality. Button/lever to release seatback to allow access to rear door seemed like it was about to break. The backseat was apparently designed for midgets. I realize the rakish roofline contributes to this, but ugh. I'm only 6' tall and I had absolutely no chance of sitting comfortably back there. If I was 5'6 I may have fit. Rear visibility is atrocious. I thought the Camaro had no rear visibility. The CTS coupe makes the Camaro seem like a greenhouse. Couldn't believe how diff…

2011 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid Platinum: What a Cadillac Should Be By Joel Feder Cadillac latest advertising campaign pegs the brand as “The New Standard of the World.” But are they really? Over the past 10 years, there is no question that they haven’t been. But do vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade Platinum stand to change that? The Cadillac Escalade Platinum stands for all the right things at the wrong time. With 22″ wheels, three TV screens and a 6.0-Liter V8, the Escalade is what many would say is wrong with America. Wait a second, what’s this? It’s a hybrid! GM launched its two-mode hybrid system in the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon full size SUVs. Both of…

Although I usually prefer Cadillacs of the seventies, this unrestored 1965 Calais Coupe looks superb: http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item3f0e0ae7ff To think all this style and class was incorporated into the most "basic" Cadillac offered! This example features power windows (including vent windows), power door locks (with the button being the actual door lock lever high-up on the door), power seat and guide-matic headlamp control. It was in such gorgeous original shape I thought it was a great representation that even the "base" model featured great styling!

A lot of talk on web sites have been coming up that the CTS V coupe may make it's way into NHRA Pro Stock with or with out GM's help. The G6 GXP coupes are good till 2013 but many teams are already looking got a new car to move to. Most still want the GM power but have little to chose from for a Coupe body. Reports have the Camaro as a problem for the series as the roof line c pillar will not work with the tubs and needs to be relocated. NHRA is not willing to let them reshape the roof. The cars are not stock but they would like to keep them at least close in the green house area. This is where the CTS V comes in. The C pillar and roof line works well to adapt to the …

Cadillac has said that elements of the Escala concept that was shown last year would be showing up on future models. Thanks to a spy photographer, we have our first look at what elements will be popping up. A camouflaged CT6 mule was caught driving out on some European roads and we can make out some key details. For one, the grille and badge seem to match up with the Escala concept. We can't say for certain as the grille outline is covered up. It appears the headlights are more horizontal and smaller than the ones found on the current CT6. Expect to see the updated CT6 next year as a 2019 model. I was thoroughly surprised when I came to read this and read the results and I think it is the best looking of the group and it sounds like it(and all new Cadillacs) have been nailing the driving portion of the car. But a major bummer on the interior and yet again CUE. How long will it take them to sort that out??? It looks like Cadillac was going for "value for size". rather than just being the best and that's disappointing. CT6 vs E300 vs S90 Here's the intro but you can read the full comparison at the above link. " Large luxury cars used to be powered by throaty, grumbling eight-cylinder engines. I am confident in upgraded interiors coming from GM for Cadillac and I lov all their exterior styling, that leavs Caddy with one big area to catch up with, again, and that is powertrains. Cadillac had more than caught up in 2004 I thought but because thy seem to be half a generation behind the imports have passed them this year. 255 hp from the 3.6 was fine a 2 years ago, now it is very average, same thing with the northstar making 320 hp. 5 speed autos are goo, especially GMs since they are world class but they need to get with the 6 speeds. It's going to be hard for Cadillac to live up to its longtime billing as "The Standard of the World" if the brand isn't available in much of it. Despite this, General Motors has decided to pull Cadillac from nearly half of the 25 European markets (not including the U.K. or Russia) in which it currently sells. Along with Cadillac, the HUMMER and Corvette brands will also be affected. The problem isn't directly GM's fault, as the automaker relies on a Dutch-based third-party company called Kroymans Import Europe to distribute these brands across the Atlantic. Due to slow sales caused by the global economic downturn, Kroymans has found itself with an "acute liquidity short…

It WAS built to compete with the luxury intermediates (GS, M, 5-series, E-class, A6) I guess I was just emotionally taking up the CTS's cause as being the intermediate Caddy. But unfortunately an STS that's only five inches longer, yet cuts a bit of a similar presence to the M and the GS kinda steps on the CTS's toes in Cadillac's lineup. And them you have the BLS in Europe, further making the CTS look kinda weird. In basic, as far as the CTS goes, I'm left feeling like the name should basically be killed off in favor of a new rear-drive compact Caddy that can line up against the G, C-class, and dreaded 3-series. The coming Cadillac CTS Coupe has been photographed almost naked, and as with the new Camaro, it is remarkably true to the concept. While this version in white is said to be a vanilla V6 sample, the CTS Coupe should be hot enough to effectively replace the outgoing XLR as the Caddy with the mostest when it's given some wheels large enough to match the body's presence. As for the timeline, the Coupe remains on schedule to arrive next year, preceded by the CTS Sportwagon, which will arrive this June. Hat tip to Matthew! Autoblog Autoweek's Spyshot Gallery

It seems Cadillac has some updates in store for the XTS if some leaked pictures from Chinese website Autohome are the real deal. The pictures show the XTS taking some ideas from the CT6 and XT5. Up front is a broader, more upright grille with new headlights. Around back is a more sculpted trunk lid and L-shaped taillights. Powertrains are expected to carry over, meaning the U.S. will stick with the 3.6L V6 and twin-turbo 3.6L. Over in China, the XTS will stick with the 2.0L turbo-four. We wouldn't be surprised if there is an update for the CUE system. Source: Autohome View full article

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 10, 2012 Cadillac has sent mules of the next-generation Cadillac CTS off to Europe for testing and some new spy photos show them in action. Apparently in Europe, its ok to have less camouflage on your test car and that gives us some big hints as to what designers have in mind for the CTS. The large front grille bears a striking resemblance to the Ciel concept. The front headlights, currently prototype assemblies at this time, appear to have a set of LED running lights. The side profile of this mule reveals the rear window is more raked than the current model, almost mimicking the CTS coupe. Most likely, this is to…

Checked out a real live XTS at a d'ship today. It was locked and had a 21 day on it, I assume it was left on the lot over the weekend to show off. Here is my impression on the design in the real world. Very nice. There is some subtle complexities to the shape and details on this vehicle that come together in person. It is amazing how narrow the car is in actuality, and how tiny the ass end looks from seeing it directly behind. Overall there is really not any element of the exterior I dislike (aside from suggesting that the car looks narrow). It's an evolutionary look, nothing special, but it also has no hood and no deck and to evolve proportions in that regard, and…

So I got my C&D today, and the Escalade was in a comparo vs. the Navigator (5th place), Infiniti QX56 (3rd!?! WTF?), Audi Q7 (2nd), and GL450 (1st). Now, it's not that I don't agree with some of the scoring (Escalade got low marks for the second and third row), but some of them are pretty much BS. Somehow it got a lower score on ergonomics than the Audi and MB (the MB tons of tiny buttons, and Audi locates their HVAC units in the worst place ever, as well as having the MMI crap in a terrible place if you're trying to drive), and it's interior design was also scored lower than each. GM doesn't really want us calling this a first drive, but this morning we drove the almost-production-ready 2010 Cadillac SRX and it felt good. Like luxury crossover segment-defying good. It's Monday, the second week in April, and in Michigan it can only mean one thing, six inches of snow to start the work week. We slogged our way through this morning's sloppy mess destined for the sleepy town of Milford, a pair of shiny new 2010 Cadillac SRX's awaiting. GM gave us first dibs behind the wheel of their new crossover as long as we assured everyone these were early mules and not finished cars, which we just did, but considering how polished these cars are, there's reall…

Expect them to be on lots in late September of next year. Also, I'm sure many will be happy to know, the transmission is not a Tremec, but rather something that at least the magazines would like better. :AH-HA_wink: Finally, final drive ratio is a bit taller than the old T56.

This is simply an idea I got from the Audi A7 spyshots (CLS fighter) and is not based on any information about the NG STS itself. This is simply a proposal I would make if I worked within GM. Anyways... Why not make the STS a CLS/A7 "4-door coupe" type vehicle? The next CTS is growing and moving upscale, which would tell me that with a mid-level (non V-Series) V8, it would be a formidable 5-Series and E-Class, etc., competitor. Now, that is the market segment the current STS competes in, and I don't see a need for Cadillac to compete with two cars in one market segment. The BLS will be coming to fill the lower-end of the market that the CTS will be leaving, but that d…

IL Exclusive: Cadillac Eyes Super Vs and Tuner Vs à la Saleen, Brabus Date posted: 03-23-2006 WASHINGTON, D.C. — Cadillac is stepping up its performance game, with plans for ultratuner versions of the CTS-V, STS-V and XLR-V, as well as the possibility of a new "Super V" lineup. Cadillac product director John Howell told Inside Line the company is already feeling out the market for such products. No timetable has been set for when the beefed-up models would go into production, but Howell confirmed what has been widely rumored for some time — that Cadillac does not want to be left in the dust by such competitors as Mercedes-Benz or even its domestic rival Ford. "We are…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 24, 2013 In the 111 year history of the Cadillac brand, the emblem has changed and morphed close to 40 times. According to Automotive News, another change is incoming. Sources tell AN that the new emblem will debut on a concept that will be shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California next month. The new emblem would then appear on production vehicles starting in 2015, although one of the sources say that could change. Why is Cadillac changing their emblem? To help shed the image of producing old luxury yachts and help bring in younger buyers to their showroom. "Every time it was tested, the reactio…
