Another positive review for the Buick Enclave, this time from the Chicago Sun-Times, titled "Buick brings back the love." The reviewer makes the statement that Buick and Cadillac are the only GM divisions offering exciting styling. "The rest of GM models (perhaps with the exception of Corvette) will put you to sleep," it is stated.

Will a Chinese Park Avenue be coming to USA? I am hoping Park Avenue and Skylark come back. Buick needs to ditch names like LU CROSS and LOO SERN. Buick needs 3 sedans..Skylark, Regal and Park Avenue.

A positive review of the '06 Buick Lucerne has been made by cnn.com. They called it, ". . . a near-perfect blend of brand, concept, and execution and offers a bit of hope for GM's future."

CNW Marketing Research has released figures showing the average ages of auto buyers in 2007, with evidence that the down US economy has moved car buyers ages up. For me, it was interesting to learn the latest about Buick buyers [ I added the bold ]: "And while Buick is typically the butt of jokes about buyers who are somewhere between retired and deceased, the average age of a Buick shopper last year was 55.2 years old, considerably younger than the average 63.6-year-old Mercedes-Benz shopper." Hi all. I am new to the site. I found a link to this place when I was on wikipedia looking up some Buick stuff. Since all of you seem pretty knowledgable I was hoping someone could confirm or deny a rumor I keep hearing.... Will the 2007 Bucik LaCrosse have the portholes? I am getting ready to buy a LaCrosse, but if the '07 has the portholes I will wait until those are out on the lots. One dealership said no, another said yes, and another still said only on the V8 Buick LaCrosse Super - which was the first I have heard of that car. Does anyone know for sure? But Buick remains, and it is high time they took up some of Pontiac's slack in the hierarchy. A modern Regal GS coupe might ease a bit of pain... even if it is wrong wheel drive.

Ok, I go home tomorrow but I have been in Florida and Atlanta for the last 2 weeks. I've seen Enclaves on the road, in parking lots and at the dealerships. Kudos for the great workmanship and packaging. However, this vehicle is way too rounded, bulbous and has not much going for it in the way of sleekness. I absolutely detest the pillar behind the rear passenger door and the rear storage area. I'm sure that it will be a fine vehicle and that some will definitely like it. I hope it does well because Buick (and GM) can use all the victories they can muster. However, this is a car I would NOT buy if this were my segment. Your poll opinion and any comments?

With news of Buick getting a RWD sedan, I have been wondering if Buick even needs another sedan. Currently, as we all know, Buick only has two sedans, the LaCrosse and Lucerne. The next LaCrosse will be moving to Epsilon II and the future of the Lucerne is uncertain because the future of the G-Body platform is also uncertain. The next LaCrosse will likely be smaller than the current model, as currently Epsilon vehicles are almost ten inches shorter than the LaCrosse, and W-Body suffers from long overhangs. You probably read that GM's car plant in Oshawa will add two more cars besides the Camaro. The report I saw stated that Oshawa ". . . will also get some Chevrolet Impala production and an unnamed Buick model at some point in the future." Someone said the other day that the Ep II Buick couldn't be called "LaCrosse," because Oshawa had exclusive rights to that name. So, I'm far away, in the land of fall colors, driving along in the U.P. of Michigan, and I see this old but familiar Buick in a driveway. No, it can't be. In today's Detroit Free Press, Katie Merx writes some very positive things about the Buick Enclave, and offers a couple of interesting quotes from Bob Lutz. Mr. Lutz states, "The future of Buick does not hinge on the success of the Enclave." Rather, he said, to return Buick to its historic role as GM's "near-luxury brand" in the United States, it must continue to offer vehicles in that same vein. "There will never again be a 'cheap Buick,'" Lutz said. "They will never again be priced down with Chevrolet.But they will offer outstanding value for the price asked." According to Financial Times, Buick is getting a shot in the arm with the new LaCrosse, a media blitz ("Take a look at us now" and "You've changed and I love it"), and, eventually, some smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles. Peter DeLorenzo of autoextremist.com, for one, says, "Buick can absolutely capture a younger, more contemporary audience. They'll do it by unleashing a series of sensational looking, eye-catching designs combined with edgy image advertising that will delete any previous hoary notions of Buick”. This is quite an extensive article written in anticipation of the new Lucerne which I found fairly objective and it also brings up a few interesting points such as offering the supercharged 3.8 in the Lucerne. I don't know how knowledgeable this guy is to the future plans of the Lucerne but nobody here has really brought that up as even a potential option for the Lucerne. I hope this is a change that will take place across the model lines! Get rid of the alphanumeric designations for Pontiac and Cadillac. I don't think the name changes have helped GM. It takes more money to advertise an unfamiliar model. HOW SWEET IT IS! I hope GM doesn't change their mind and go back to Lacrosse!!
