Just wanted to throw a little tid bit on the 2005 Nextel Cup winner Tony Stewart. While yesterday’s race was not a stellar one for Smoke, he did what he had to do to win it all, and with a much better attitude than 2002. Chevy also won the NASCAR manufacturers title in 2005. The “boo” of the day goes to Dodge. Some Dodge teams actually brought the 2004 Intrepid bodies with them for the Homestead race since the flying brick-suckerfish of a Charger just wasn’t getting it done. And imagine if it was real stock car racing and you had to use the Charger’s actual silhouette? http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/headlines/...d.ap/index.html (And yes, if it was real "…

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/19/this-is-your-best-look-yet-at-chevys-c7-corvette/ GM has really gone to lenghts to hide this car with camo even on the dash. The things to take here are the seats are seen. Also the Steering wheel and the C7 is next to a ZL1 to better judge the size. There is a shot of the rear hatch that looks like a more flat rear hatch with no wrap around to the opening part. The large rear center pipes with the 4 outlets are a nice touch. We should see more soon as this is following the same patter of GM photo leaks and bring the cars out to tease.

2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS XFE - Short Take Road Test Xtra Fuel Economy may not be thrilling, but at least it’s not torture. September 2008 At first glance, the Chevrolet Cobalt appears to be suffering from neglect. Its generic, character-free interior and exterior design was already a step behind the competition when the car launched in 2005, and little has changed in the intervening years. Now that the Cobalt is riding out its final years before its replacement, the Cruze, arrives in 2010 as a 2011 model, that’s sort of a moot point; we wouldn’t expect Chevy to invest heavily in its lame-duck compact, after all. But rising fuel prices and America’s growing interest …

MARK PHELAN: New Chevy HHR hits home run August 25, 2005 BY MARK PHELAN FREE PRESS COLUMNIST http://www.freep.com/money/autoreviews/phe...825.htm#graphic The 2006 Chevrolet HHR is what the future used to look like, an artist's rendering that blends memory and imagination. From its optional chrome roof rack to the sculpted metal housings for its round afterburner taillights, the HHR reminds me of 1940s and '50s drawings of spaceships and cars of the future. Some skeptics have already dismissed the throwback look of the HHR as Chevy's belated answer to Chrysler's retro-styled PT Cruiser, but the compact wagon is more than that. Both ca…

Automotive News reports that it could be getting more exciting in the coming future. Chevrolet is fixing that for the 2019 Suburban RST. Available later this summer, the RST Performance Package for the Suburban brings the 420 horsepower 6.2 V8, 10-speed automatic, and magnetic ride control. We don't have a 0-60 mph time for the Suburban, but we're expecting to be a few tenths slower than the Tahoe RST with the same powertrain. Rumors of a V6-powered Corvette model have been floating around for years but weren't taken very seriously until Motor Trend decided to spend some ink on it a few issues ago and predict the six-cylinder model would revive the "Sting Ray" name. The model would basically be a Chevy-branded version of the Kappa roadster that GM has liberally passed out to such brands as Pontiac (Solstice), Saturn (Sky) and Opel (GT). Chevy's version would be different in that power would come from a V6 rather than an inline-four cylinder, and rumor has it that it would be badged a Corvette. The Stylish all-new Malibu will sell well. I predict it will rise to 250k sales annually from its current 175k. However, I believe this new Malibu could surpass 300k if Chevy did the following. First, I believe that the Malibu should be the lowest priced midsizer in GM's line-up. So, the Malibu LTZ must not surpass the Saturn Aura XR's $24,845 nor should the Malibu LS be priced above the Pontiac G6's Base model's $19,345 (Of course the G6's value model will need to be dropped). The LS & LT models come with a 4-speed automatic only and the LTZ model comes with a 6-speed automatic standard. So, How does this look? Malibu LS $17,845 Malibu LT $19,195 Malib…

  70. William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com November 1, 2013 By all accounts, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is a much improved model over the previous model. In fact, the Impala currently is the highest rated sedan by Consumer Reports. But not everyone wants the new Impala. By 'everyone', I happen to be talking about fleets. Back in March, Chevrolet announced that the last-generation Impala would be sold to fleets only in 2014. After that, the new Impala would take its place. Now, Chevrolet will continue building and selling the old Impala, known as the Impala Limited, till 2016. "The Impala Limited has done extremely well. Our fleet customers know the car and like i…

  71. Good new for Chevrolet Suburban fans. Back in March we reported that a Chevrolet Suburban HD would be available for the 2016 model year, but then later found that the Suburban HD would only be available for commercial and government Fleets. The commercial and government fleet version would come equipped with the venerable 5.3 liter V8 and some upgraded hardware. Now we can update you with some new information. The GM order guides for the Suburban just went live and now we can see that while there is still the Government and Fleet version, there is also now a 2016 Suburban 3500HD listed. There is no indication in the order guide as to if the 3500HD will be avail…

New Chevrolet Captiva: compact SUV debuts at Geneva Chevrolet Europe has issued the following press release: With the all-new Captiva, its first diesel powered compact SUV, Chevrolet takes its European product offensive to a new level. Tailored to European roads and customer requirements, the vehicle will be available with a modern two-litre 150hp common-rail direct-injection diesel. Like the two available gasoline versions (2.4-liter four-cylinder and 3.2-liter V6), the turbodiesel offers dynamic driving performance. The Captiva will also be the first model in Chevrolet’s European range available with an electronic stability program (ESP). It debuts at the Geneva moto…

Not the best or most thorough comparison, but still makes a lot of good points, with the Ford prevailing in the end: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...photopanel..1.* I'll say it again, too. We have an '04 Suburban, and my mother is a GM SUV lover, but I've now seen and played with several '07 GMT-900's and a couple '07 Expeditions, and I'd choose the Expedition hands down. Much better sorted packaging, more realistic and not inflated pricing (still a bit of an issue with the GM's), more sophisticated and refined under the skin (with the Ford MUCH improved even over the previous model), and just a very well done package throughout. Still love a lot about t…

CNN Money Drives Volt Mule It was a rare opportunity when General Motors recently invited a few reporters to test drive a Chevrolet Volt electric car "test mule" at the carmaker's proving grounds in Milford, Mich. Very few people who don't work for a car company ever get to drive "mules." These are not-ready-for-prime-time mock-ups used to test new engine, transmission and suspension technologies. To create a "mule," engineers stuff the mechanicals of a new vehicle into the body of an existing vehicle and test drive that for months. It beats waiting for a whole car. In this case, the body was that of a Chevrolet Cruze, a new small car model that GM will start selling …

The other is a black 1LT (V6 manual!). A walk between the black 1LT and the IOM SS (its like you are there!): Popping the trunk on the black 1LT: Sitting inside the 1LT: Shifting the manual in the 1LT: (I goofed and did the wrong pattern! ) I had the ISO set up wrong on my camera, so some of my pics came out grainy. Valentine's Day is for lovers. Some might say my "love" is the Monte Carlo. Well, if that's true, then I received the perfect package in the mail today ... a whole bunch of old NMCOA (National Monte Carlo Owners Association) magazines, from another fellow MC enthusiast. Flipping through the old issues opened my eyes to how much the NMCOA has changed over the years. In some of the older issues, the pictures of the convention included pictures of the people winning the awards ... not just the MCs. Older issues also had a bunch of pictures, technical articles, MC information, etc. The December 1987 issue included a picture of a blue '84 MCSS that was owned by someone i…

We'd write about the latest J.D. Power Dependability Study; someone posts about missing Camaro. Our revamped value pricing system? Camaro. A brand-new GM rollover testing facility? Camaro. 89. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into the safety of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles after a Chevrolet Volt caught on fire after a crash test three weeks earlier. The agency has asked all manufacturers who currently have electric vehicles on the road or plan to introduce one to provide information on the protocols they have established for discharging and handling their lithium-ion batteries, including how to lower risk of a fire. This is to NHTSA said it had investigated an incident involving a fire in a Chevy Volt after a crash test on May 12. The test involved a Chevrolet Volt crashing into a pole which caused t…

  97. Future Camaro Update: Australia's GM Holden May Be Taking the Lead Toward Production Date posted: 04-20-2006 CANBERRA, Australia — A task force based at GM Holden — set up shortly after the debut of the Chevrolet Camaro concept at the North American International Auto Show in January — is reportedly working on the production version of the car, according to the Telegraph newspaper here. "The only thing I can say on the record is that our new rear-wheel-drive (Zeta) architecture is the main candidate for the future American rear-wheel-drive products, including the Camaro concept," said GM Holden Chairman Denny Mooney in the report. 99. The number of models that you can get with a manual transmission has been declining over the past few years. For the 2019 model year, there could be another one off the list. The Truth About Cars has been going through General Motors' VIN decoder document for the 2019 model year. One of the items they have discovered is the 2019 Chevrolet Cruze will lose the six-speed manual for both the gas and diesel engines. It also looks like a CVT will become available. The document doesn't list what model the CVT could go in - our guess is that it could be an high-mileage eco model. Now, GM could change what is listed in the documents in the future. Under NHTSA regulations…
