Words cannot possibly describe how f@#kING PISSED I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So about a half an hour ago my girlfriend and I were laying in bed talking getting ready to go to sleep. As we're talking we hear this extremely crashing noise and what sounded to me like a clutch grinding. I quickly look out of the window to see some guy jumping out of a car and start running down the street. We get dressed really quickly and run outside to see the red early 90's Integra in the road with the lights on and the wipers on crashed into the neighbors car. I go back inside and call the cops. At first we thought they had just hit their car but boy were we wrong. Not only di…

Camino and I floated the idea of a C&G-sponsored meet at the All-GM Nationals show in Carlisle, PA a couple of years ago that never got out of the planning stages. That idea, at least with me, is still on the back burner and I may try to do something for the 2010 show. But moving on... The AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania is a great place to visit and the GM Futurliner will be on display there starting mid-October and lasting until early Spring. Seeing as how the winter weather in the northeast prohibits car shows from happening, maybe a C&G meet at the AACA Museum would be a good way for some C&G members to meet, take a tour of the museum, have lunch…

See that? That's what I'm going to do with my virus-infested PC. Anyone here have any idea why I have to turn my computer off 3 times or more in order for the f@#king thing to boot up, or why when I use Google, it doesn't take me to, say, the Wikipedia page I wanted but websites with the names of "gooooosearch.com" or "breast-site.net?" I hate Windows. I've been trying for months to fix this, with no luck. I'm going to buy a Mac next. I can't stand Micro$h! anymore.

So I was eating a corn dog earlier (I have a big box of them in the freezer) when my son began actioning as if he wanted one. I explained that he was condemned to a regular hot dog because he isn't high class, high society, therefore he cannot have meat on a stick. Was that wrong?

There were cars I used to see tons of when I was a kid, many of which have basically disappeared. Plenty of cars have been noted in my Car Spotting posts that I had missed for a good while, but there are sadly some that are pretty much gone forever. I mean, I can't remember the last time I've seen a: -Dodge Polara -77 Chrysler New Yorker like my grandpa had -B- or C-body Chrysler wagon -Fury or Coronet like the cops used to drive. -early 70s Charger or Satellite (it's like Chryslers just die off or something) -Oldsmobile Firenza (H or J-body) -pre-80 Buick Estate Wagon -first-gen Celica fastback -Audi Fox -first-gen Audi 4000 -Audi GT Coupe -some of those we…

Two Jeep Cherokees, one a '98 and the other a '94. Both supposedly run. Both supposedly have good titles. Both have an asking price of $850. I'm curious about the '98, that's what I'm hoping may be a diamond in the rough. I don't know what I would do with an extra Jeep sitting around, but whatever. I think I can deal with it. We'll see. I have the weekend to wait.

So, I'm EXTREMELY stressed at work, and have been for a couple of months now. I feel as though I'm being harassed by my new principal, and being untenured, the union is too chicken $h! to do anything about it. My mom is positive I can change my sexual preference. It's just a matter of following God's words. My grandmother has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now, and it's very touch and go, although it looks like she'll get better, but she's not allowed to live on her own anymore. Men on Long Island are very frustrating. I'm tired of game-playing, and I'm sick of the lack of monogamy. I love having people tell me they want a monogamous relations…

It's snowing. It has been all day. A LOT. A LOT more than expected. It won't stop. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. I had a "plan" today to get up, eat and leave for Philly/Jersey/etc. before it really started and because the forecast up there was better, drier, etc. After some issues, got rolling around 9:45, it was snowing & white here but dry about 5 miles from home, hit Wawa for coffee & kept going. Got to just past Milton on Rt. 1 north (for those of you who know DE beach area), the road all of a sudden turned wet & covered in brown salt then I saw I was a few cars back from a salt truck. Faceoff: Lexus IS350 Vs. BMW 330i Horsepower isn’t always the only thing. by Conor Twomey (2006-03-20) Last year was a bumper year for Lexus, having sold 303,000 vehicles in theU.S. and beating BMW's 266,200 units into second place in the luxury vehicle charts. But before you go feeling sorry for the BMW, consider this: BMW sold almost as many 3-Series models in Europe last year (229,932 units, despite a March '05 introduction) as its entire U.S. sales volume and found a total of 644,000 happy European customers in total, excluding MINI. And do you know how many vehicles Lexus sold in Europe in 2005? A grand total of 28,777, or about 4.5 percent of BMW's sales. In …

The Year Is: 1950 The year is 1950. It's time to expand you small delivery business and you need a vehicle. A pickup doesn't offer the protection from the elements that you like, a wagon's windows make you nervous about theft and you just sold your current car to Oldsmoboi, who is using it to keep those pesky kids off his lawn. You decide a sedan delivery or panel truck will haul your customers things around and give you some space on the side for advertising. The only question is, which one? 1950 Willys 1950 Pontiac 1950 Oldsmobile 1950 Mercury 1950 GMC 1950 Ford 1950 Fargo 1950 Dodge 1950 Chevrolet 150 1950 Chevrolet **************…

With the introduction of the Car Of Tomorrow, Ford is staying with Fusion, Toyota is running Camry, Dodge switched to Avenger which is the smaller car that real-life competes with the others, why isn't Chevy going to Malibu instead of using Impala? Impala is just not the same class as the others. I know it is "large mid size" but come on... This would have worked if Dodge stayed with Charger, Ford moved to Taurus (which also doesn't work that well) and I don't know what Toyota would use, Avalon maybe? I know they are trying to stimulate sales of the Impala, and in a couple of years it will be more appropriate with rear drive coming back, but the new Malibu would ben…

I say Toyota Camry/Avalon or some other non-exciting Toyota. Not saying that Supra, Celica & MR2 drivers are angels but they tend to be about average... not better or worse than most. Me and XP had this conversation after we noticed on a few road trips that about 60-70% of all awkward driving situations were caused by drivers in Toyota cars. They cut people off, have no concept of the blind spot & to make matters worse in some cases they're clueless & jerks. A very bad combination on today's roads. Your feelings on this matter?

• We bought our '11 Jeep Liberty in Feb of 2016, with 53K miles. Not a single problem to date, not a fancy vehicle, but everyone here likes driving it fine. Now has 80K. Going to keep it, my one son is it's regular driver. • Wife's 2009 Malibu LT was bought new. Between GM card cash, sale discount (1500), and a Cash for Clunker trade (4600), the $25K sticker came down to the low $17K's. It's been a very good little sedan, a few very minor things plus the normal maintenance. Currently has 127K on it. Other than a few dings and some curb rash on the pass-side alloys, it's in good physical shape. Mechanically it could use front struts. On to this morning... checked…

Horrible episode the other night in town. Stopped at a red light, crotch rocket in front of me first in line, cars behind me. Moron on said rocket decides to do a burnout to show off for some chicks on the sidewalk. He proceeds to blast the whole front of my vehicle with bits of burnt rubber and engulfs me in tire smoke. I could hear the crap pelting the car. So when the light turned green I gunned it and followed him, raging. I passed him and cut him off immediately before another red light. He pulled up beside me and starts to get testy, so I let him have a verbal barrage of my own. When the light turned green he kicked the side of my car and took off. Next red…

I know next to nothing about what's out there for motorcycles. I'm in the process of getting my motorcycle license. My very good friend who I'd like to go riding with has this: A 2015 Ducati Streetfighter. While I think it's a hot bike, I also am certain it is not for me. I don't want to be hunched forward and I want to be able to put a passenger on the back. The bike I've admired for a while is the Yamaha Roadliner Midnight I like the bike, but want something a bit more sporty without going to the extreme of the Ducati Thoughts?

I'm thinking that it will be at least a few more years before GM builds anything that I just can't resist. So, after I clear the decks and unload my current fleet of projects, I'm guessing that I'll go after at least one more "fun" car of recent vintage before a new one is likely. The thing is, I have no idea what it will be. I'm not talking about a classic or project car - just something fairly new and low-mileage that I will enjoy driving when I don't have to drive the truck. Another GTO might work, but I'm not married to that idea. So what do you think would make me grin from the used market in about a year and a half from now?

Similar like Word Association, but here is how its played. Ill start off with one word, the next person has to come up with two things that relate to that word, then the third person has to pic one of the previous persons words and come up with 2 words that relate to that and so on and so on. Example: Charger4U: Cylinder WPBHarry: Piston, Engine (make the relation) WPBHarriet: Engine (the word he/she picked to relate to) Hemi, Northstar Charger4U: Hemi (the word i picked to relate to) Charger, Ram. Get it? its not as complicated as it may sound once we get started. The starting word is Chevrolet

I was doing a little thinking recently about finding a project pickup at some point down the road, and the 1973-1987 C/K pickups (and '73-'91 Suburbans/Blazers/Jimmys) are the natural choice because of their driveability, modularity, and aftermarket support, and also because they hold a special place in my heart because they are the trucks I grew up with and remember vividly from my childhood as my father, most other male family members of mine, most of my friend's fathers, and virtually all of my father's friends and acquaintances drove them. They had all different sizes and configurations; long beds and short, crew cabs and standard, fleetside and stepside, two wheel dr…

I've mentioned before my mother recently has gotten a "thing" for new Camaro's, calling me about ones she sees, pointing them out when out, asking me questions about them, etc. Yesterday I was actually home for once and while she was cooking dinner, 5pm rolled around and I clicked on Motorweek in the kitchen. This week's first test, the Camaro SS. Typically I'd be the only one interested in this show at all, but from the second "Camaro" was uttered a certain someone ordered "quiet!", turned up the volume, and intently stopped what she was doing to watch every second of the review. About 24 hours from now we should have a pretty good idea who will be piloting the Titanic for the next four years. Well, My main 26" tv in the bedroom is about 14-15 years old and runs great, but we have no TV in the living room and the wife wants one, to get the kid out of the kitchen where our cheap 20" tv is. We have NO full height wall space in the living room, but we do have a pseudo mantel above the gas fireplace in the center of the wall. There is a wall with the window sill at 60" and room for a TV or cabinet below, buit its in the corner kind of. I originally though 1000 bucks would do it, now I'm not sure. Might take 2 grand. I'd like to try to get at least 37-40" atop the fireplace. Might have to settle for 32". Could go 50" proj TV if i go below the side windows. …

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8299079.stm What happened to global warming? By Paul Hudson Climate correspondent, BBC News Average temperatures have not increased for over a decade This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise. So what on Earth is going on? Climate change sceptics, who passi…

In case you weren't aware, there will be a new player on the streets this summer in the on-highway and vocational truck markets: Caterpillar has decided to partner with Navistar International to offer two on-highway trucks, the CT610 and CT630 (basically rebadged Intertnational tucks) and for the vocational market (construction, garbage/refuse, mixers, logging, etc) there will be the CAT-designed CT660 class 8 truck: CT610: based on the International DuraStar: CT630: based on the International ProStar: CT660 based on the International PayStar: These were introduced at the Conexpo-Con/Agg construction industry conference in Las Vegas back in March. 20190505_110414-mp4.mp4 Mother’s Day weekend was a busy one. The kids had planned out the whole Sunday for the wife and I had planned the day before to build an area with a raised garden bed for the wife. The raised bed material was bought, the area mapped out and the plan to get up early and rent a truck to pick up cedar chips and black gold compost soil was scheduled. Saturday morning went as I expected, up early, quick breakfast and off to be the first in line at the U-Haul rental place. Figured rather than $75 per delivery, two types of material meant $150, why not spend $19.95 for a single day rental of the truck, pick up the material myself and pocket $1…

Edmunds Evaluation: 2006 Minivan Comparison Test 1st: Honda Odyssey 2nd: Kia Sedona 3rd: Toyota Sienna 4th: Nissan Quest 5th: Chrysler Town & Country If there's an ever-changing segment of the automotive industry, it's the family-friendly world of minivans. In the 29 months since our last hard look at the segment, it has completely turned itself over. The Kia Sedona and Honda Odyssey have been overhauled, while the Nissan Quest and Chrysler Town & Country have been given thorough once-overs. To see which is the king of the modern mommy-mobiles, we brought the four together, along with the winner of the 2004 comparison test, the Toyota Sienna. Each of the …

MT is all gushing for themselves over their latest issue, they have a minivan comparo. But get this, Sedona, Quest, Caravan, Odyssey. WHERE'S THE SIENNA? I'm no Toyota banger, but its clear the Sienna is one of the segment leaders. To top it off, they tested a Quest with a list price of over 40 grand. They could have just as easily tested an S model in the high twenties because they tested a Sedona with an MSRP of about 25 grand. "And its such a great value". Damn thing didn't even have power doors! Yet the Sedona takes 2nd even though the Quest has the nicer interior and handle the best of the bunch. The Sedonas second row doesn't even fold flat. The Odyssey…

Post what your own personal automotive Holy Grail is here; include pictures and a background story if you'd like I would recommend that you post no more than one vehicle per catergory... so that would mean one holy grail car/CUV/Minivan, one holy grail truck/SUV, one holy grail motorcycle, one holy grail airplane, etc. (you get the point )

I am looking at getting myself some cheap wheels for spring/summer. Maximum price of $3000 CAD I would really like an Achieva (1994 or 1995 is my preference). I found an ad on Saturday for a 1994 Achieva S sedan with 160,000 Kilometers for $2200. Called, and a lady told me she had bought a Corolla, and wants to get rid of the Olds pronto. I asked over the phone if its a V6 or 4, but she said she didnt know, she would have to look in the manual (haha women driver). I came to look at it on Sunday, and was mildly dissapointed. It is a rock bottom base model. It has the 2.3 OHV I4, 3 speed auto, 14inch wheelcovers, and crank windows. The best part was, it is …

Yes, that's a Sabbath reference. Here's one change I made just 15 minutes ago. HD Radio is the shit. The Hurst T-handle shift knob also improved the throw of the shifter over that pathetic leather-covered billard ball. Sorry for the low-res pic. My iPhone is only a 3GS (still better than the 4 IMHO).

So, with my paycheck here and the Olds motor leaving at the end of the week, I'll have enough cash to buy either one of these two cars. 1986 Pontiac Firebird, 5.0L V8 with 113K miles (swapped from an '85 Camaro), runs and drives, needs some mild bodywork, paint, and a home: http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1465976167.html 1979 Pontiac Firebird "Redbird Edition", no motor or transmission, needs bodywork and paint, usable interior: Now, if I buy the '79 Firebird, I'll be putting a 403 in it which I can pick up for $150 bucks. ... if the G8 ST isn't annnounced there, I may shelve all notions of a new car purchase. The truth is that I don't now, nor ever will, need to buy a new car again. I have all but decided that I will not settle for close anymore, either they build exactly what I want, or I will buy used cars I actually like. I will not compromise. Although I like the new Camaro, it just isn't me. I don't want to be part of such a large crowd. I may buy a used one someday, but I just can't see shelling out the cash for a car that is almost what I want. Sad really, I enjoy buying new.

As some of you may know, I busted my oil pan about a year ago on Tampa's infamously decrepit Kennedy Blvd. After calling a local shop who has always given me good service, I was quoted a price of $1200 to replace the oil pan because it was necessary to remove the engine and much of the transaxle to do it. First I thought they were ridiculously high, but after browsing the Aurora forums, I found that was a shockingly reasonable price given the day-and-a-half's worth of labor needed to do the job. People there have been quoted anywhere from $1000-4000 to do it. Some shops wouldn't even attempt it. I set a new record for oil pan repair today by calling the local Cadillac de…

It's been a crummy week, that's for sure. Today I was planning to go to the parts stores and get some prices on a tie rod puller and a torque wrench, and see if buying them plus the bushings would be cheaper than having the shop doing the inner tie rod bushing for the Intrepid. At about 12:30 I head out. Since the Prizm was across the street out front (and I had yanked the starter relay out of the Intrepid and forgot it) I figured I'd take that. I walk over to it and unlock the door and notice something sitting on the center console. Open it up and come to find that someone had broken the rear quarter window, broken the center stack bezel, and ripped out the cheap Son…

Hang on... - - - - - The GT Hawk traces it's roots to the full-classic '53 Studebaker coupe, designed under the leadership of famed industrial designer (and previous Studebaker designer) Raymond Loewy. The 2-door '53 Stude was widely acclaimed at introduction, and sold extremely well : ~ 1953 ~ 4-drs : 74,073 …

Okay......thought I'd get the C&G's team's feedback on this interesting topic (well interesting to me at least.) I get $h! all the time from my friends because I'm 38 and I always end up dating guys in their mid-20's. I'm always asked....."Why don't you date guys your age or older?" So I've been thinking about it alot.....and I don't have an answer. It just seems that the guys I'm attracted to and end up falling emotionally for tend to be somewhere around 10-12 years younger than me. Before the "Daddy Complex" jokes start......LOL.....it's not that at all. I've always looked to my boyfriends, or guys I'm dating, as equals in our relationship.…

And now for something completely different… When you were 12 years old, "back to school" time was the worst. Summer fun was out and book reports were in. When you're several years out college, working a so-so job, you'd give anything to be heading back to campus. This fall, after an 8-year absence, I'm quitting my job (sort of) and going back to school. There won't be any 500-seat lecture halls at this school, however, because I'm going to flight school to become a helicopter pilot. Being a pilot is an idea that's been in the back of my head for a few years now. Anytime I had a bad week at work, I would occasionally tell people something like "To hell with this, I'm goi…

My first accident with the Aurora occured when a Toyota 4Runner backed into me at the mall, damaging my hood and bumper guard. My second accident occured when a Ford Mustang plowed into me on the beach, crippling my car just as I drove it home as it had busted a tie rod, right fender, bumper cover, and A/C compressor. My third accident occured when a Toyota Solara ran into me as I was stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk, causing minimal damage to the rear bumper cover. As a Buick owner for 28 years and a current 2006 Buick Lucerne owner, it is with nostalgia that I say Good Bye to Buick. I am hopeful that Buick does not go the way of Oldsmobile. However, it is the forgotten stepchild of GM relegated to a small room in the attic. Tomorrow I take a last and longing look at this old friend as I step into the new world of my 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I once swore never to darken the steps of the foreign auto market. But as the Buick I once knew slipped silently away into the attic room neglected I reluctantly yet with anticipation look forward to a new day in my hybrid. Farewell Old Friend!

So, you've created automotive life in the other thread, lets perform some automotive abortions. Hummer H2-I hate them and the people who drive them. Tools. Pontiac Grand Prix-Its ugly, handles poorly AND has a cheap interior with almost no back seat room. Why bother? Saturn Relay-How many minivans does GM need? The Terraza is somewhat more upscale, so one of the other three has to go. Chevy is the "Full line" brand and Pontiac deserves the SV6, so the Relay goes bye-bye. Chevrolet Monte Carlo-Do people still buy these? FWD coupes are dead and if they make it RWD then there is no need for a Camaro and since you're all Camaro humpers, I s…
