Introducing the 2007 Aveo Sedan By Ed Peper Chevrolet General Manager With the incredible growth of the economy car segment in the past year, it's vital for manufacturers to continually innovate, update and change the game. Well, that's what Chevy is doing right now. Two years ago, we brought our all-new Aveo to market, as "the small car that thinks big." And now, we defy the norms of the auto industry by introducing a new Aveo Sedan for the 2007 model year. Aveo has been the sales leader in this segment virtually since its introduction, and this dynamite new four-door promises to continue that trend. We'll be holding a press conference and webcast to announce our …

Chevy HHR Receives 5-Star Front and Side impact Safety Ratings DETROIT - The 2006 Chevrolet HHR small utility vehicle earned best-in-class, "five star" crash safety ratings in the latest federal New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) frontal and side-impact crash tests. NCAP results are conveyed via a star rating system - from one to five stars, with five being the highest. All of GM's small SUVs now register a 5-star/5-star safety performance in the tests administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The HHR joins the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, Saturn VUE and Pontiac Torrent in being awarded five-star ratings in both frontal and side impa…

-- -- -- -- -- -- Pete Wilzbach recently discovered a First-Generation Corvette body that may have originally been mounted on the second chassis ever built. Evidence indicates this is the case – which would make this the oldest Corvette in existence. A report in Old Cars Weekly cites an article by Ken Amrick (Solid Axle Corvette Club) that appears in the Fall 2006 issue of the club’s magazine On Solid Ground. The body has some differences and modifications that seem consistent with historical records showing that body No. 002 was used on a car that served as a test mule for production Corvettes. Wilzbach believes it was used in tests done to determine if the small-blo…

According to GM Authority, the Chevrolet Traverse is dropping the 2.0T from the lineup and is already no longer available for ordering. The move means that the only available powertrain for the Traverse is the 310 horsepower V6 paired with a 9-speed automatic. The 2.0T was introduced in the 2018 model year only on the RS model which had a slightly sportier flair than the regular Traverse. We wonder though if this signals a move by Chevy to use the new TriPower 2.0T that is found in the Cadillac XT4 and was recently announced to be going into the 2020 GMC Acadia. So don't be surprised if there is an announcement from Chevy soon. View full article

Can any insiders tell us the status on this program. GMT161 had been progressing for quit few yrs as a Mini SUV on Theta below the Equnox & VUE for Chevy, GMC and Saturn but I have heard rumors it is another victim of the budget axe. With the NG VUE appearing to grow in size and the Equinox almost as large as a T Blazer it seems with rising gas prices this a program that needs to see the light of day. Any insight?

G. Noble Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com April 16th, 2012 At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Chevrolet stripped the wrapper off of its upcoming 2014 Impala to a pleasingly surprised automotive world. While the current Impala has been called one of the least appealing cars in America, we know the new model will certainly work hard to change those perceptions and try to restore the image of Chevrolet’s flagship model. Other than that, we also know all about the technical details of the ‘14 Impala, as well as its options list that includes a host of four and six-cylinder engines and creature comforts like adaptive cruise control. A lot of folks thought that would be th…

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 27, 2012 If there is one thing Ford and Chevrolet do very well with their muscle cars, it has to be both offering many variations of said car. Case in point, Chevrolet has introduced the 2013 Camaro 1LE package. “The Camaro 1LE combines the best elements of the SS and ZL1 to take road-racing performance to a whole new level. That the 1LE breaks the three-minute lap at VIR puts it in the upper echelon of performance cars. That it starts under $40,000 makes the Camaro 1LE one of the most affordable, most capable track-day cars offered by any manufacturer,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. The 1LE packa…

PRESS RELEASE: GM @ LAIAS CHEVROLET SEQUEL IS A BETTER, CLEANER, PETROLEUM-FREE SOLUTION LOS ANGELES – The first driveable version of the world’s most technologically advanced automobile ever built, the Chevy Sequel, is being featured at the Greater Los Angeles International Auto Show. Sequel is GM’s solution to provide the world with a cleaner, petroleum-free vehicle that is better in nearly every way. “General Motors is proving that advanced technology can remove the automobile from the environmental debate and reduce our dependence on petroleum," said Larry Burns, GM vice president, research & development and strategic planning. “Chevy Sequel clearly shows …

Linkity Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Out of nowhere, my car of the year It's been a quiet year for the world's motor industry. There have been no wrecks, nobody drowning; in fact, nothing to laugh at at all. But, hidden in the sea of normality and business as usual, were a couple of gems. We start with the BMW X6, which must receive my inaugural What Were They Thinking Of award. Have you seen one? No, and I doubt you ever will because in a world that's plagued with recession and run by people who believe the world's polar bears are up at the North Pole sipping pina coladas and slapping on the factor five, it is surely t…

How Much Is A Volt Worth In Three Years? William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com May 17, 2011 So you just bought a brand new Chevrolet Volt and are wondering how much it will be worth within three years. Well, Kelly Blue Book has figured out and answer. They said, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt will be worth $17,000 after 36 months. That's only 42% of the Volt's $41,000 MSRP. Eric Ibara, director of residual value consulting at KBB said the projected residual value is on the low side. But, Ibara points out the first 200,000 Volts will be offered with a $7,500 rebate dropping the MSRP to $33,500. Using the $33,500 MSRP and KBB believing gas prices wi…

from Newsday: Tom Incantalupo ROAD TEST Chevy’s big new V-8 Impala is in a power class of its own It's an exaggeration to say that the Chevrolet Impala SS has no equal. But, for the money, the 303-hp. V-8-powered SS has no direct competition. There are few other front-wheel-drive cars available with V-8s. One, the Pontiac Grand Prix, is smaller. The new Cadillac DTS and upcoming Buick Lucerne are more expensive, and, as of the end of the '05 model year, the Pontiac Bonneville is gone. The Cadillac STS V-8 and the V-8 sedans from Ford and Chrysler are rear-drivers. V-8 sedans from Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, Jaguar and Volkswagen are rear-drivers or a…

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...e.promo.1g.*#14 Chevy builds a muscle car out of a truck By Scott Oldham Email Date posted: 12-01-2005 At 130 mph, its electronically limited top speed, the 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS should be wandering around like a wino after a jug of dry chardonnay. But it isn't. Despite sharing aerodynamics with Carnegie Hall, Chevy's new muscle-bound SUV is dead stable and…hold on a second while I pass this truck…requires nothing more than a few fingertips on the steering wheel to keep it pointed straight down the road. Even when passing these 18-wheelers traveling at half our speed…like this one…it just pours past wi…

Hello Everyone, I am looking for input from those that might have some inside knowledge on the Chevy Trailblazer AWD SS. I am currently looking at buying a 2008 White AWD SS with only 36K miles, one owner, An Arizona couple that has had it garaged. I know the magazines talk highly about this suv and say check out the brakes, tires, make sure no aftermarket performance mods have been done. CarFax comes back clean with all maintenance done on it, no accidents and confirming the single owner. So the big question, being 4 years old with only 36K miles on it, what else should I look at on this baby. There does not seem to be a whole lot of info on problems or repairs. I …

"There’s no doubt it’s a world-class machine at speed – and at coming down from it. Some high-performance cars can be squirrely when you stomp on the brakes at triple-digit speeds, but the Z06 stays straight as an arrow, even in mixed conditions. Only in the tightest hairpins does it object to your commands in the slightest, eventually bringing its rear end around and then catching it if you don’t. Despite the massive amount of power on tap, it’s easy to find your confidence in this car, and learn a few things along the way. That is, until you reach the end of the road. After a few lapping sessions, the engine in mine unceremoniously called it quits. There was oil, some …

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 2, 2012 General Motors is putting their Detroit-Hamtramck assembly on a five-week shutdown due to the overabundance of Volts sitting on dealer lots. The shutdown will effect 1,300 workers. Currently, GM is on 6,319 Volts; 3,596 of those are sitting on dealer lots. That might not sound like a lot. But when you factor in the 1,023 Volts sold in February, then its a lot. GM usually tries to keep about two month's worth of inventory on dealer lots. The 6,319 Volts amounts to almost five months. The move comes after the plant came back online from an extended holiday break on February 6th. Source: Ward's Auto …

Who here likes it? who doesn't? what was the best part about it? what would you have changed? General Opinions on the thing. I for one like the styling, the idea of the thing, but they failed in the execution, Basing it on the trailblazer(not that they had much an alternative) and releasing it underpowered in its first year with the auto only combination didn't help The later years LS2 with the 6sp manual was really cool, but they are still stratospherically expensive even today.e

Earlier this week, we introduced you the refreshed 2016 Holden Commodore lineup. Now one question that came up was if the Chevrolet SS - a rebadged version of the Commodore - would see any changes. Chevrolet has provided the answer with an announcement of an updated 2016 SS sedan. Changes for the 2016 SS are mostly cosmetic with new vertical ducts to improve aerodynamics and a set of LED lighting. Finishing off the exterior are a set of functional hood vents and nineteen-inch alloy wheels. The 6.2L V8 remains unchanged with 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. A new dual-mode exhaust comes as standard. "The 2016 SS design changes more fully express the tru…

I was flipping throught channels and somehow ended up on CNN. I beleive it was a story about hybrids that was on. I wasn't really paying attention. At the end of the video clip, it showed what I guess was the Chevy Lambda. It looked like a toned down sequel with the Chevy grill. I have no idea why that would have been on there, but it was there. I'm not crazy, though I'm sure I'll get people telling me that I am. Haha. Ill keep watchign to see if the story repeats. Edit: I was originally thinking it was the SUV, but maybe it was the minivan?

Just saw our friend and #1 Camaro supporter Scott S is back on line and feeling fine after a tune up. [just had some heart work done and glad to have you back!] Anyway they were speculating on what Camaro may show up at the NAIAS on Z28.com. One post stated that they expected a coupe to be there only to be followed by a mention by Scott of "No Coupe". They also had mentioned a Convertible to which nothing was said or replied to. Silence at time can be our best clue from the Fbodfather and it may prove to watch and see if GM anounces if a Topless Camaro may appear this year. If it does it will be interesting to see if a more production like car is shown and w…

A couple years back, then General Motors' North American president, Mark Reuss said “That was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake,” when asked why Chevrolet didn't sell the Cruze Hatchback in North America. That appears to changing with the next-generation Cruze. Automotive News reports that Chevrolet showed off a Cruze Hatchback at its national dealer meeting in Las Vegas last week. According to sources, the model was billed as a 2016 model, but a launch date wasn't announced. Chevrolet will be revealing the 2016 Cruze at a media event this week with sales starting sometime in the first quarter of next year. Automotive News guesses sales of the hatchback could star…

New Chev muscle car a Holden underneath http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthr...?threadid=25280 Demand from American baby boomers for modern muscle cars sent American executives to Australia looking for help. The Camaro was yesterday labelled a "concept car" but the Herald understands it is close to being confirmed for production. "We have Australian engineers working on this project right now," Denny Mooney, the American boss of Holden, told the Herald. With his connections in the US, it is likely the Chevrolet Camaro could be built in North America on the same production line as the next generation Pontiac GTO, which is due in 2008. Given that they share major…

Chevy Volt Hysteria: We’re All Going to Die! Or, An Application of Facts and Rationality to Flaming Batteries and Melting Chargers One can learn a lot from history. When gasoline-fueled motor cars began roaming streets (and their proxies) in great numbers at the beginning of the 20th century, fuel tanks were thought to be ready to burst into flames if looked at sideways, and gasoline run-off was blamed for sewer explosions. Such fear and misinformation prompted the New York Times to release a piece in 1912 entitled “Gasoline Is Not Dangerous Fluid.” Action-flick writers excepted, people today generally understand that the internal-combustion engine’s fuel doesn’t …

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com May 14, 2012 Chevrolet is introducing a new global-market crossover called the Trax. The Trax will serve as the brand's only global crossover. The Trax appears to be closely related to the Opel Mokka and Buick Encore crossover. The only change appears to be the Trax getting its own fascia. Chevrolet is being quiet on specific details about the new Trax. Our guess that it will likely share the same engine lineup as the Mokka and Encore, and come in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive. Chevrolet says the the Trax will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, with sales beginning in the forth quarter in Mexico …

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 18, 2012 Remember the Camaro 1LE package? No? Well, you're not the only one as the big news in the Camaro world this year has been the ZL1. Quick refresher on the Camaro 1LE; like the Mustang lineup which offers a car between the GT and GT500 with the Boss 302, the 1LE takes the middle place between the SS and ZL1. So what does the 1LE package offer? Well for starters you get matte black hood, front splitter and rear spoiler. A set of black-finished 10-spoke wheels from the ZL1 come as standard. That's not all of the ZL1 goodies you get in the 1LE. The ZL1 also donates some suspension hardware, much of its fuel sy…

Al Oppenheiser is possibly one of the most important people working at General Motors being the chief engineer for the fifth and sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. He helped bring back one of the most iconic muscle cars and make into something quite special. But Oppenheiser will soon face a new challenge. Car and Driver reports that Oppenheiser will move over to GM's newly formed AV/EV organization to work on zero-emission-vehicle development. GM spokesman Michael Albano explained that they are moving "some of our best talent" to help work on their electrification efforts. Albano did acknowledge this was a lateral move, Oppenheiser would remain as a chief engineer. …

Inside Line: our Chevy Volt's battery miles cost more than the gas ones AutoBlog We often, though sometimes incorrectly, assume that it's cheaper to operate an electric vehicle than a comparable gasoline auto. Hey, who hasn't? While this assumption generally holds true, electrical rates vary widely across the nation and can throw off the numbers. In some instances, like when Inside Line's engineering editor, Jason Kavanagh, drove the Chevrolet Volt out in sunny California, one discovers that operating a vehicle powered by electricity can indeed cost more than running it with the liquid fuel that pours from a pump. Kavanagh explained how he discovered that operating a Vo…

We've seen the shots of the new Chevrolet Cruze wearing layers of camouflage, but some new shots out of China could give us our best look of what the automaker has in mind for the next-generation model. Chinese automotive site, auto.sohu.com got their hands on what is reported to be a un-camouflaged next-generation Cruze sitting in a parking lot. Judging from the pictures, Chevrolet is making some dramatic changes. The front end looks to be borrowing some ideas from the SS with two distinctly separate grilles and a large Bowtie emblem. A set of narrowed headlights sit on either side. One other design cue to take note of is the arch in the rear wheel wells, something very…

William Maley Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 21, 2012 Today, General Motors showed off the production model of the new Trailblazer at the Bangkok auto show in Thailand. Like the concept Trailblazer shown back in November, the production model uses GM's new global body-on-frame midsize truck architecture. Styling is the same as the concept; rounded and muscular. Engines include a base 2.5L four-cylinder diesel producing 150 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.8L four-cylinder diesel producing 180 HP and 346 lb-ft of torque. Both engines go through a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The Trailblazer will hit dealerships in Thailand in June, with mu…

China Wants To Know Volt's Secrets William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com September 21, 2011 General Motors has wanted to sell the Chevrolet Volt to China since it's the largest and the fastest growing market for automobiles. Also, China's big cities have seen pollution increase exponentially within the past few years. To fight back, China will offer automakers who offer electric vehicles, subsidies of as much as $19,300. There's a catch if you're a company like GM. In order to get the the subsidy, China wants the automaker to share proprietary technology with the government. GM isn't too keen on the idea and neither are international trade…

The mileage (for gas) read: 20 city / 29 highway Last year's (2006) model sticker for this engine indicated: 21 city / 31 highway That is screwed. The bigger V6 in GP/LaX comes in at 20/30. I'm scratching my head on this one. What's the deal?

I drove a new Impala LT with the 3.9 in southern CA for a few days -- part of the Avis rental fleet. It drove great, so much quieter and smoother than my '04 LS with the 3.8 that I have at home. I can think of a few changes that I'd like to see in the '07 when it comes out this fall: more exterior colors for the SS (dark gray, pale blue metallic, just for starters); new wheel rims for the SS (I really don't like the factory rims at all, almost would rather have the LTZ rims); twin chrome pipes for any 3.9 powered car (LT or LTZ); change the spoiler to make it more subtle; it almost looks silly on the LT and LTZ; subtle front and tail clip changes; for the f…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 30, 2012 Chevrolet has let loose the pricing on the 1LE package for the Camaro SS and Camaro ZL1 convertible. We'll start with the 1LE. Earlier this month, Chevrolet said the 1LE package would start under $40k. Well, it appears Chevrolet has kept that. The 1LE package adds $3500 to the base price of the 1SS and 2SS models, meaning the pricetag on a 1SS with the 1LE package begins at $37,035 (includes a $900 destination charge). As for the ZL1 convertible, that begins at $60,445 (includes a $900 destination charge). Like the ZL1 coupe, the convertible comes with the same 580 HP, 556 lb-ft of torque, supercharged 6.2…

FOR RELEASE: 2009-03-11 CONTACTS GM Statement Regarding the Duramax 4.5L V-8 Diesel Given the current economic climate, GM has reviewed and updated its U.S. product portfolio and has decided to place on indefinite hold its previously announced plan to add a Duramax 4.5L V-8 diesel engine in 2010 to its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty trucks. Chevrolet and GMC will continue to offer a heavy duty Duramax 6.6L V-8 diesel, which is class-leading in both horsepower and torque. The age of the connected car is here as General Motors announced that 14 vehicles from Chevrolet's 2016 lineup will offer Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility through the MyLink infotainment system. This means GM is one of the first automakers to offer both systems, giving owners a relief when it comes to choosing one over the other. “For most of us, our smartphones are essential. Partnering with Apple and Google to offer CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility across the widest range of models in the industry is a great example of how Chevrolet continues to democratize technology that’s important to our customers,” said Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors. We have read that the next Malibu will be larger and fill the role of the current Impala and Malibu combined and will ride on EPII. After seeing a MaXX and a Equinox next to each other in a parking lot yesterday something occurred to me: What if EPII shared some parts of Theta? Here is the chart I made with the dimensions: Equinox MaXX Impala Length 188.8 187.8 200.4 Width 71.4 69.8 72.9 Height 69.3 58.1 58.7 As you can see the in some dimensions the Equinox is quite close to the current Impala and if made more car like through the use …

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com August 6, 2013 The Chevrolet Trailblazer could be coming to the U.S. if a recent report proves to be accurate. Edmunds learned from an internal source that a version of the Trailblazer could be going on sale in the U.S. in 2014. It's not clear if the vehicle will retain the name or be built in the U.S. The Trailblazer made its debut at 2012 Bangkok Auto Show and went on sale last year in a number of markets, including Thailand and Brazil. The model uses the same body-on-frame architecture with the midsize Chevrolet Colorado and comes with a variety of engines and the choice of two-wheel or four-wheel drive. Chevrolet …

I was doing some research/surfing, and stumbled on something I wrote way back in 2002. This was at a critical time, as the 4th gen Camaro was ending its run. Debate ran rampant about a replacement. This all sorta came to me and I wrote it out... http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7211 06-30-2002, 02:28 AM I just got back from the future. There appears to be three different Chevrolet Cruzes in play; the refreshed 2015 Cruze, the Chinese market Cruze, and the upcoming 2016 Cruze that was recently caught by a spy photographer. Caught undisguised, the 2016 Cruze shares a number of design items with the Chinese-market version that give it a somewhat tidy, if somewhat boring design. The front end wears a nose that is similar to the Sonic with the spilt grille and sculpted hood. The overall profile reminds us of the current Honda Civic. What is still unknown is what will power the next Cruze, but one or more of the engines from the Next-Generation Ecotec family going into production later this year is most lik…

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com April 1, 2013 Just to get this out of the way, this is not an April Fools story. Today, General Motors announced certain details on their new pickups. The details concern figures on the 5.3L V8 and the base prices for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. We'll start with the new EcoTec 5.3L V8 engine. The engine which will be a $895 option of the Silverado and Sierra produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque – increases of 40 horsepower and 48 pound-feet compared to the 5.3L V8 used in the 2013 model. This allows the Sierra and Silverado to have a max payload of 2,102 pounds and a max tow rating o…

Crew cabs have arrived at the dealerships. Regular and extended cabs are soon to follow. Many potential buyers have held out on purchasing the outgoing GMT800 models in lieu of the newer models. Supply and Demand would suggest a dealers market. I would like to know if anyone on this board has bought or discussed pricing on the new Silverados/Sierras? Are the dealerships willing to negotiate or discount the price of the new trucks? If so, how much are they coming down? Thanks, Jim Houston, TX.

Chevrolet has an interesting week. Tomorrow, the automaker will be revealing the next-generation Cruze. Then a day after, the 6th generation Camaro Convertible will be shown for the first time. Unfortunately for Chevrolet, someone posted the images of the new Camaro Convertible on Chevy's site. The company has pulled them down, but the folks at Camaro6.com got the images. Not surprisingly, the convertible looks much the same as the coupe. We'll have more details on the drop-top Camaro later this week. Source: Camaro6.com View full article

As a number of manufacturers are running away from diesel (and who can blame them), Chevrolet is running towards it with the introduction of the Cruze Diesel early next year. Now Chevrolet has announced pricing for the diesel variant. The Cruze Diesel will begin at $24,670 for the six-speed manual and $26,270 for the nine-speed automatic. Like the previous Cruze Diesel, the new model will only be available in the LT trim which nets you LED daytime running lights, seven-inch infotainment system, and six-speaker audio system. The diesel will also get the optional Convenience package as standard - keyless entry, push-button start, power driver's seat, and heat for the f…

2007 Chevrolet HHR Panel LT Chevy puts an unserved niche in its crosshairs By KEVIN A. WILSON | Link to Original Review @ AutoWeek Thanks to Napoleon Bonaparte, England is often derided as “a nation of shopkeepers.” We’d wager there are far more of them here, though. The American entrepreneurial spirit and the number of small-business owners leave one to wonder why it’s been decades since Detroit built a mass-market panel wagon like the new-for-2007 Chevrolet HHR Panel. When Chrysler showed a panel version of its PT Cruiser in concept form in 2000, we thought the time had come, but the Panel Cruiser never arrived except as an aftermarket treatment. And Chrysler even ha…

since we all know that the Colorado/Canyon and especially the Hummer H3 could really use a V6 engine, would it be possible to offer the 3.9L V6 thats used in the impala/Monte carlo in these?? of course it would have to be mounted diffrently, but if they are planning on bringing back the camaro it would probably use the 3.9L as its base engine, so they would need to engineer it for rwd anyways..

Autoblog is reporting availability of the 2.5L and 2.8L used in the global trucks about a year after SOP of the new small trucks. Link to that article is HERE. This is very interesting to me as I might be in the market for a smaller truck with towing capability and better MPG than the bigger trucks on the market in the next few years... HERE is a bit more info on these engines available globally. And HERE is a Motor Trend review of the 2012 Colorado. 7716 lb towing capacity on the 2.8L version? I bet the MPG will be no worse than 30-32 highway (hey, if the big Ram can do it, these little trucks better be able to...). Sign me up!

It'll be interesting to see if the Corvette will soldier on with the venerable body-on-frame Y-Platform or if it'll adopt the Alpha Platform. Theoretically, the Alpha will work with a Vette. At 3,350 lbs for a 5-seater sedan with steel body panels, it can conceivably be aluminized and composited to the 3,000 lbs range for a 2-seat Vette. Using the Alpha will mean considerable economy of scale given that the Vette will probabbly share a lot of components with the ATS Coupes and possible a Chevy or two. The Y-Platform on the other hand is getting really long in the tooth -- the last major revision on the underlying structure being 25 years ago with the 1984 C4. The only th…

My buddy has now had his 2006 black Impala 3LT 3900 for a year now as a fleet car for Fuji medical and gets to take it home every night for his daily driver. I have driven the car many times with him so have made the following pro and con table: Pros: Spacious, quiet at cruise, lots of std features for cost, trunk space, performance, mileage, handling, workmanship, reliabilty Cons: Anonymous rear end styling, engine noise at more than half throttle, hard seats take getting used to, no floor shift indicators or glove box light a minor annoyance Now that the 06 Impala is fully broken in with 35,000 miles, performance and mileage have improved to quite respectful level…

Click Here Honestly their nitpicks are a little annoying such as the Vortec Max naming but overall, they liked the truck. I think the most impressive thing I read besides the hp and torque #'s which we all knew already was that it recorded an interior sound level of 65.2 decibles, more quiet than an Audi A6. Nice job there. The longer braking distance is slightly disappointing but we'll have to wait for other publisher's braking tests to see if the results are consistent. The looks are slowly growing on me more every time I see it, and I hope it does well in Edmunds' long-term fleet.

Google Streetview Camera Car Fleet Set to Invade America Link to Original Article @ Gizmodo A camera-toting tipster saw what appeared to be a giant armada of Chevy Cobalt cars in the Google parking lot, getting ready to take pictures of the entire world (or thereabouts) with special 360° cameras. The tipster says he followed a Google camera van as it cruised back to its Mountain View, California, lair yesterday after that van finished a session of picture taking for Google's Streetview navigation site. Exactly what did he see? It was an entire fleet of at least 30 brand-new Chevy Cobalt cars parked behind the building, most without license plates yet. As you can see i…

I saw 2 new Impalas on the lot at my local dealer the other day, and I have a few questions about ordering models and options.. One of the cars was a Black SS with light grey leather interior, but it had the woodgrain dash applique instead of the Chrome-ish stuff that I thought was specific to the SS. Can you order an SS with the woodgrain dash, or one of the other models with the chrome? The other car on the lot was a dark gray "3LT" that also had the light gray leather, but it also had the 3.9 V6; I thought that the 3.9 was specific only to the LTZ... this car had LTZ wheels and stickered out at over $28K; seems to me that if you can order a "3LT&…

William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com July 9, 2012 Automakers try their best to keep their upcoming cars under wraps - literally and psychically. However, with a click of a shutter or a mouse, the secret they were try to keep is now out in the world. Such could the case with the next generation Corvette. Omega Tool Corp., a Tier One supplier for GM recently put out a video on how they mold the plastic bumper cover for the Corvette. This video normally wouldn't be making everyone go crazy, except this bumper cover isn't for a C6. The one shown in the video carries many of the cues shown on the Stingray concept in 2009. This has caused people to speculate that…
