Just announced in the news......Nissan is moving their N.A. headquarters from Gardena (L.A.) to the Nashville area where they have an assembly plant (Smyrna, TN.) 1,300 jobs will be transferred from Southern California to the Nashville area. Personally, I think this is a MAJOR mistake for Nissan. Why? 1) The car culture in Southern California is second-to-none in this country. 2) Trend-setting is also second-to-none (maybe along with New York) in this country. 3) Southern California is an automotive dynamo with numerous different manufacturers having their N.A. headquarters here and most also have design studios here (GM even has one in North Hollywood.) Spied: 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe A member on Car and Driver's forums snapped these pics of the new Altima Coupe. I'm guessing this will be released in mid to late 2007 as a 2008 model. The pics are somewhat small and a bit blurry but from what I can see, it's much nicer than the bubbly in comparison Accord and the just plain wierd Solara. Here are some pictures I took of the 2010 Nissan Cube at the Montreal International Autoshow in Quebec, Canada on Tuesday January 20th. This is one very silly little car. Interior has terrible plastics (and ergonomics) and has very little legroom for front passengers. It looks like a retarded clown car from the outside. A little over a week ago we told you that Nissan was going to start cutting parts of its model lineup. Some of the low hanging fruit for Nissan are the variants of the Nissan Titan. Nissan Titan sales are down 22.6 percent, selling only 18,026 copies in the first half of 2019. The biggest news is that Nissan will be killing off the Cummins diesel option for the Titan XD. The 5 liter turbocharged V8 produces 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. The current Nissan Frontier has been with us for over a decade and not much has changed with it. It has put Nissan well behind the pack of newer models from GM, Honda, and Toyota. I was watching a best motoring episode and the Drift King (Keichi Tsuchiya) mentioned that the Nissan GTR is not a true Supercar due to the fact that it's too heavy. He does have a point. The GTR weights 3800 lbs and is heavier than all the other cars in its category. Also, it has back seats which some people would classify as more of a high performance sports coupe. I highly respect the GTR's capabilities but feel there's a certain untangible that is missing. Maybe it's driving feel, or how you can't feel the passion when driving it hard like you do with a Ferrari 458. What do you guys/girls think?

Now, Nissan wants some of its thunder back and is working on a dual motor prototype of the Leaf e+. Imagine that you spend $75,000 on a new Nissan GTR with a claimed 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds. You take your sports car to the drag strip to try and validate the claim, but you can tell right away you are not getting full performance from the car. We reported last week that due to lagging sales and plunging profits, Nissan was readying to layoff 12,500 employees globally, or 9% of their global workforce. It seems odd that Nissan didn't choose one of the major auto shows to introduce a refreshed model. Instead, they chose the Miami Auto Show to introduce the updated 2017 Rogue crossover. The first change you'll notice is the revised front end. Nissan took some ideas from the Murano with a large V-Motion grille that dips into the front bumper and sharper headlights with LEDs.
