PROJECT ACHIEVA It is coming up on 3 months since I bought my 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva S. Here is an update on some of the things I have done in that time. First up, was a complete cleanup of the engine bay. Yep, I finally got it. Here are the details: It had the Red Tag to mark down the sticker price to $18,726. I bought it under the 72 month time period for the 6.9% financing. I put $3000 down and have a $308 monthly payment. The car had 45 miles on it, then I took a test drive (this is the second time I've looked at this same car). Guys, I have switched to "the other side". In my garage is a gorgeous 2007 Honda Civic Si sedan. Got it last night. Well, I done did it. Again. I took delivery of my 2011 Ford Fiesta SE hatch this evening after work. Tuxedo Black Metallic with black and blue interior, 5 speed manual transmission. A sweet-driving little pup for sure, quiet and solid. I got a special treat installed, a blue leather-wrapped shift knob from Ford Accessories to match the blue streaks in the upholstery. Finally got around to dropping the fuel tank in my dad's old Dodge. Per Murphey's law, it was chock full of gas and took forever to drain, but the job is done and the tank out. Along the way I discovered what was causing the car to stall and not restart. Although we suspected that crud in the tank ws causing the problem, the actual cause was a bit of a surprise. Yes, there was a fair amount of sediment in the gas - but the real problem became obvious as I poured the last of the fuel from the tank. An approximately 2"inch square chunk of an old leaf flowed out of the filler neck as I tipped it up! That'll stop the fuel delivery in a hurry. So next will be having the tank…

Say hello to my 2007 Saturn SKY roadster!!!! It's C&G's first Saturn SKY and I'm now the 2nd Kappa-based car owner here. I guess I don't have to tell you how much I like this car!!! Well I went ahead and did it. I got myself back into a truck. It's a 1LT 4X4, 3.7L 5 cylinder with 3.73 G80, power/convenience package, fullsize spare and trailering package, Deep Navy with Ebony 60/40 seat. Traded the Cobalt in today. Decided not to wait for a factory order.

Remember that '62 Buick Special I mentioned? Yup, she's now my daily driver. The Mercedes sold last Thursday, Saturday morning I picked this little Buick sedan. It has the 198 cu. in. iron-block V6. This GM "intermediate" is almost as much fun as my '68 Camaro was. The true-dual exhausts, oversized carburator & recent rebuild make it quicker than I expected, this thing is quite the little rat-rod. It only cost me half of what I sold the Mercedes for. Got the front of my Jensen apart, going to do a little cleanup and upgrades, I'm dropping the front end around 1 1/2", getting the brakes and suspension up to snuff and cleaning things up in general.... I cannot explain why I am so drawn to the 78-81 Chevy G-body coupe. I just am. This one weighs 2880 lbs, looks stock, runs 12's with an angry mouse motor and lots of Edelbrock goods.

For a long time now I've wanted to do an interior swap of my car's with that of a 300M's ever since I sat in one and felt just how supple and more comfortable the leather was in it verses the cloth or even leather seats of Intrepids. A couple weeks ago I obtained teh first piece of that goal...a 300M leather armrest. Next I'd like to acquire the backseat since they are harder to come by than the front seats. Two weeks ago, I driving along in downtown Hell (Phoenix) on a pleasant, sunny 115 degree day when I hear a loud SNAP, and my seat lurches backward and to the right ('00 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 101k miles). Got home, studied the situation, realized the driver's seat track was sheared off right below the seat attachment point. All the power functions work fine. Did some research, found it this is a common problem with WJs. Found several write ups about this on jeepforum.com and other forums. Started fiddling with it, managed to unbolt the 4 bolts that held the track. After leaning the seat back, I realized the seat frame (which the track bolts to) is also cracked. …

Yup... It's time for some pics of the GA. I took them about a month ago. I just washed, waxed, and shined it up before I took them. Now for the basic rundown... It's a Spruce green matallic coupe with the 150hp Quad4 and 5spd. It's stock for the most part except for a few things. Currently, though, the headgaskets leak and it ticks. Nothing too serious as it is runable, just have to check the oil for water quite often and keep a close eye on the gauges. Other than that and the need for a new paint job, it's in excellent condition. It has 118,000 miles. I bought it around New Year's and I paid $1000 for it. The very few mods include: Clarion …

Lease ended on 2018 Pacifica. Apart from looking at the Traverse and Enclave, made the seriously easy decision to re-up on a 2021 Pacifica Limited all wheel drive. Ridiculous incentives made it possible for a great deal, and we totally loved our 2018. Sorry GM but your GM Card top off was not much extra incentive. 20 INCH wheels on a van? Thank you STELLANTIS.

Black 2008 G6 GT Street Edition I know everyone here hates it, but I really liked it and my wife (it's her car) loves it. I did not know that you could add it to the GT models, but apparently you can. It has every option including the 18 inch rims and Stabili-track. We had a black GT next to this GT and it looked so much meaner with the Street Edition stuff it. Screw all you haters, we like it.

Took delivery last evening of a 2007 Saturn AURA XE in Midnight Blue with Tan Cloth. It has the Convenience Package, Preferred Package, Enhanced Convenience Package, and the upgraded 17" Chromed five-spoked Wheelcovers. Since they got this car on trade from Saturn of Marlow Heights in Maryland, there was a tan pinstripe and VIN Etching already on the car. I have had many vehicles in my lifetime, in many types and brands, but I have always had a special feeling for those cars that were built for heavy-duty police work. Depending on who made them and when, there have been several outstanding models and, IMO this is one of them. The 9C1 designation is given to cars produced by Chevrolet for police service, with many special, heavy-duty features that are not even optionally available on the civilian models. Well it was D-day for me today as I picked up my newest edition to my fleet, my son and I went to pick it up around 1:00 today and he has been detailing it and waxing it up until now. Well he took it down to the park and shot a few for everyone on C&G, aside of being louder than the 3400 in my 2001 and having tighter steering and firmer ride it is a very similar car. It is sportier though and my son agrees, Monday I have to get new plates for it, I have only put three miles on it. My son can't wait to get a crack at it on the open road, he really likes it way more than the 2001 and frankly so do I. It is amazing what a few small things can do to a good car a great car…

This past Monday I bought a 2007 Silverado 1500 2WD Extended cab. Dark blue/light grey interrior. So far I love it. I am getting used to the way it drives since my '05 had the "Smooth Ride Suspension" on it and this one does not. It also sits higher and I feel like I sit higher in the seat as well. This is also my first vehicle with On Star. I'll post some pics once I take some.
