After all the hype and anticipation the last 10 years or so have brought upon the automotive world, the new Camaro has finally been delivered to dealerships across the country. I remember seeing the early renderings and thought for sure that this was going to be the best car of the 21st century under $40K. When I saw the movie Transformers in the theater, and Bumblebee morphed into the new Camaro, I was blown away. I just knew it was the car to have. I was so excited to see them I couldn't stand it. But when I started seeing pictures of the actual interior, I was less than excited. The overgrown gauges in the center console near the shifter were the first things that ca…

  3. When Chevrolet revealed the 2017 Camaro ZL1 at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, it was said that the supercharged 6.2L V8 would produce 640 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque. But a leaked order guide shows that the Camaro ZL1 actually has a little bit more power. The folks at Camaro6 forum got their hands on a leaked order guide for the 2017 Camaro and found out that the ZL1 actually produces 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Just to put that in perspective, the Corvette Z06 has the same power numbers. We're sensing there will be a fight when the ZL1 arrives later this year. Source: Camaro6.com View full article

I've read a few rumors and seen one drawing that indicates that the new 08 Malibu is going to have quite an up-market appearance, and be the first car of the "new Chevy design" -- whatever that is. Anyone heard or seen anything lately about this new upcoming Malibu? I really hope that it lives up to the hype, because the current Malibu, however nice a driver it might be, just sucks from a style perspective; it screams "rent-a-car."

  7. 2012 Chevrolet Impala Changes hit the Dealerships Drew Dowdell - Chief Editor - CheersandGears.com May 3, 2011 By now most of you have heard that Chevy is doing a final update to the aging full sized Impala. Well those changes had finally hit the dealerships parts books. We knew about the 3.5 and 3.9 liter V6es being replaced with the High Feature 3.6 producing 302 horsepower while maintaining the Impala's FlexFuel designation and the 4-speed auto shifting to GM's 6-speed unit. But lets get the low down on the other changes. While we had hoped that a new Impala would be waiting on the lots for us in 2012 (2010?) These updates aren't a bad thing for a proven platform…

  8. Chevrolet's new Camaro is the last of the neo-ponycars to hit showrooms, and now it's finally possible for you to put your money where your mouth is after all those breathless "I'd buy one..." comments. Dreamers and real buyers alike can head to the new Camaro Configurator website and trick one out just right. The price of entry for a base-trim LS model is a mere $22,995, and it still looks fantastic – there's something about those black steelies with trim rings. A V6 that belts out more power than some of the storied V8s of yore while netting 29 highway miles per gallon is a persuasive argument for going base, though we couldn't help ourselves and wound up with a…

GM would also like its Mustang fighter to arrive as soon as possible. Media are reporting that GM will call the prototype "Camaro," but supplier sources…

World Car Fans shows the '08 Malibu? | December 17, 2006 | YellowJacket894 Recently, World Car Fans released a chop of what they thought to be the next Opel Omega. However, whenever I looked at it, I felt something amiss. First off, the proportions were that of a front-drive car (I.E. Epsilon) instead of rear-drive (I.E. Zeta, which a new Omega would be based on). Second, many things matched up with spy shots I, and you as well, have seen of GM's break through mainstream product for 2007: the new 2008 Malibu. Things didn't add up. So, obviously, only one thing made sense to me: WCF used and enhanced images of Chevrolet's new 2008 Malibu to produce their Omega render…

We'll start building Camaros in the 4th quarter of 2008 -- and they'll be in dealerships in the first quarter of 2009. Yes - the new Camaro will have a B-pillar. I posted it here as this was on the CamaroZ28.com site and they were all wondering if this may be a glimps of the future Camaro engine. If anything it is GM and a very interesting layout. Some over there were claiming red lines od 6,600 to 7,000. Also it was claimed to have the same low end torque as a LS but it continued where the other stopped. If true this would be a big jump over the Ford 3 valve. All of this is speculation from the Camaro web site and has not been confirmed. So just enjoy till we hear more!

  60. GM is working to address the new small RWD segment that Toytoa has already taken too. It is said they are looking to enter this segment and will do so with not a Alpha car but a new platform using what they learned on the Alpha. I see the Camaro now not needing to sell 100,000 units to be more of a lower volume power house at a price and Chevy offering and growing a smaller segment with the Turbo 4, I like this vs forcing the Turbo 4 in the Camaro. I would forget the R130 styling as it is already dated and not as sporting as the present Toyota offering. I expect they will do a more global styling and may go a little more retro with the Camaro than I was expecting with t…

Chevrolet Camaro Concept: Design Note: Recently, I brought you details about the design of the new Dodge Challenger, the concept that served as a precursor to Dodge’s re-entry into the revitalized Pony Car segment. In that article, you got to see a good chunk of images you had to pay-to-see over at Car Design News (which, to me, isn’t fair at all) and read about styling elements, etc. Now it’s time we look at an equally legendary machine: the Camaro These two sketches show a car that in no way is a Camaro and tends to be very futuristic. Cues from GM’s Autonomy concept and the Saturn Curve concept seem to litter these sketches. This early sketch shows cues from the…

It's no secret that the Corvette's demographic is somewhere in the 50s, and the younger crowd does have a few negative connotations associated with it, namely that it's the default purchase of balding men going through a mid-life crisis and having a need to compensate for "other" shortcomings. How do we fix that? How should Chevy lower the buying age of the Corvette? How do we get in their 20s and 30s to sell their souls on a loan for a Corvette as opposed to, say, an M3 or G37? Should Chevy even bother?

Super Vette Spied! Again! Chevy’s 650-hp Corvette SS caught heading in for EPA testing AutoWeek | Published 11/06/06, 9:03 am et Link to full article and pics @ Autoweek Not even a month has passed since we first reported on Chevrolet’s plans for a super Corvette, a halo model well in excess of the already superb Z06. Judging by these spy shots, it appears assurances we were given earlier this year that the car was on the development fast track (“To Hell and Back,” May were right on target. These photos were taken by George Kachadoorian just outside of Ann Arbor last week. He suspects the car was headed in for EPA testing. While the hood scoop indicates t…

These guys do it right and it will be interesting to see what they can do with a new Cruze many of their people were already tuning the standard suspension vs have to fix the old Cobalt one. These guys are good and worry less on stickers and more on hardware, the right hardware.

HHR is hot, so GM raises target again Automaker looks at boosting production to 120,000 annually By Jamie LaReau Automotive News / October 10, 2005 DETROIT -- General Motors believes it has a hit with the new Chevrolet HHR wagon but must figure out how to build more of them. "What we're trying to do is ramp up the capacity of the components and the plant so that we can build without having to go build another plant for it," says Lori Queen, GM's vehicle line executive for small cars. Robert Lutz, GM's vice chairman for product development, says GM plans to produce 120,000 HHRs annually. Production will "probably go up from there,…

I have no idea what colors the '09 Camaro will be offered in (besides the obvious silver, white, black, bright red), but I saw a color this morning that would be perfect--it's a modern yet retro apple green (don't know the Chevy name of the color) that I saw on a late model Avalanche. Beautiful color, IMHO that looks very much like something from the late '60s-early '70s..I think the Camaro would great in it..

By RICHARD TRUETT, AUTOMOTIVE NEWS NEW YORK -- General Motors is considering a four-cylinder engine for the new Chevrolet Camaro as a response to rising fuel prices. What do you expect to see at NAIAS, if, indeed, a Camaro concept is shown. Remember, it will be a CONCEPT, not a complete production model. Oh, and if you disagree with someone, that's okay. This is only personal speculation/hopes. My Speculation: Design: Front end will have one of two designs. One, quad headlights with a lower grille like the 4th Gen. Two, something like Horton's. Rear design will definitely have LEDs and the taillights will either be quad round ones or a panel lik…

My favorite before this run was the Enclave.. and because of it's styling.. still is. I just LOOOOOVE the smooth, sexy, sultry lines of the Buick more so than the more truck like look of the Acadia/Outlook. The Traverse uses a great deal of styling cues from the Buick. Yes, the LR3 drives magnificently and has gobs of space into which you can throw everything you could ever want to take along with you. But there is one little problem: It gets only an average of 15 miles per gallon and requires premium gasoline. The Cobalt, on the other hand, averaged 31.4 miles per gallon of regular fuel for the 672-mile trip. Before we go into greater detail, we should a…

Engines: It is unclear whether both Chevy Zeta's will share the same engine lineup, but three engines will be offered in all. The 3.5L V6 (perhaps as a fleet engine for the Impala?), 3.6L V6, and 6.2L V8. At this time, there is nothing else planned (for the first model year at least). 18 inch wheels appear to be standard, while 19s and 20s (20s being available in 2 different widths) will be optional. Most likely, the 20s will be standard on the 6.2L model, so that a staggered setup can be run. Putting the power to the ground will be 275 series tires. And I think that's eno…
